About

Talisman: Prologue is a video game adaptation of Talisman, a popular board game created in 1983 by Games Workshop. This version is adapted for a single-player experience and does not allow multiplayer. The game is set in a high fantasy world of elves and dwarves and was described as "Monopoly meets Dungeons & Dragons."

Overview

The game is based on the Fourth Edition rules of the original board game. In Talisman, the player controls a single character and moves him or her across a map. There are ten characters, such as Assassin, Monk, or Elf. Each of them has a score of D&D-like abilities, such as Strength and Craft, as well as downsides.

Each character has his or her set of consecutive scenarios that become longer and more difficult over time. The scenarios are sorted depending on the number of turns required to complete them. The player can set a record by beating a scenario in fewer turns.

Maps and movement

Each map is divided into three realms that form concentric rings. The player starts at the outer realm and has to defeat guardians or build bridges and rafts to move inwards. The goal is to reach the center of the map, where lies the ancient artifact called The Crown of Command.

The character's movement depends on the dice rolls and the properties of the terrain he or she is on. In certain spaces, the protagonist may encounter NPCs, recruit followers, fight enemies, obtain artifacts, and perform other activities. All of them are represented by the cards.

Talisman: Prologue reviews and comments

Game conversion of the Talisman for Pc, this game (The Prologue), consists of a little tutorial on how to play Talisman, in this game we will have a board and some characters for that by performing missions and collecting objects, spells and Corresponding followers (by turns) we can overcome the game. In This prologue we can choose several characters (Warriors, At brownies, Vampires...) each with their own skills with the goal of reaching the Crown of Command (and so finish the mission), a little tutorial to learn how to manage in the game to Enter fully into Talisman Digital Edition. The Prologue is done with care and is very affordable (by the way in Castilian), is quite entertaining, its great but you take the character you take the mission will be practcamente the same, with which to do with a character you worth to learn the mechanics and not motivates To perform the missions with another character. Recommended for a ofertica. Puntiacion 7/10

Good adaptation of the board game but the game dynamics is obsolete for the times. Game of fantasy where chance participates a lot. The interaction with the player is minimal, only throwing dice and choosing cards from the deck. The music and the animations are correct. It does not have multiplayer. So what only recommended for people who played the physical board game.

I have had the app since it appeared. The board game was very well implemented for single player mode. Unfortunately, the app lasts no longer with me. It always stops immediately after selecting the hero and the adventure. Since when that is exactly the case (last update of the app or update of the iOS), I can not say. Unfortunately, downloading the app again failed. IOS 8 is now on my iPad. I have the impression that there is not much development here and that the problem will probably not be resolved. And in these circumstances, I will certainly not get the full version, which probably will not work for me either. Pity!

I actually only downloaded the app for testing, as many board games apps have been ported more badly than ever. Talisman, however, has surprised me quite positively! Gameplay: As with the board game here the game principle was taken 1: 1, which has worked really well. The game feeling of that time I could notice immediately after a short detention game. Class! Graphic: Very successful! Sure, you can not expect any milestones here, but zooming in on the playing fields looks chic and overall the look is just right! Music: Since the new update, it is now possible to play your own music ... Who needs it can be happy;) I would have been more pleased if the monster would make a few more different sounds - would be atmosphrischer! Playing time: The individual tasks have a playing time of 15-30 min. Depending on how fast we click through. Personally, I find it very pleasant. However, I've played through all the characters and their missions now - there must necessarily come replenishment! And the multiplayer option / or "free game" must necessarily ago! Conclusion: If you know and love Talisman, you will not be disappointed! The price is relatively steep, but there is no inApp skid and if the promised features are added, then you can already accept the price. I like it!
