First – I never played the original games (booing is heard in a room), so I won’t compare the original and the reboot, but I really liked the new one. Ratchet & Clank ticked all the right boxes for me: it looks great, has a cool protagonist and a lovely sidekick, a lot of nice characters, tons of cool guns, from your typical blaster to a “shotgun” that transforms all the enemies into pixels, as well as a fireworks launcher (with some epic music playing while firing), many different gadgets that unlock throughout the story and allowing you to re-visit previous places to collect all the things metroidvania-style and a nice set of locations to see and bosses to kill. The story is nothing special, but it does its job to keep you going and allows for some character development. The most important part – the game keeps you hooked, there is no time when I didn’t know what to do or was bored. As soon as story was slowing down a bit – game gave me a new mechanic to play with (jetpack levels are the best) or a new location to visit. So, if you want to spend your weekends playing a very polished, colorful game that will let you destroy tons of bad guys with all the imaginable guns in the universe, then I recommend you checking it out.
