Hey Guys! I asked an AI to come up with a story about DJ Grooves and Conductor, and it’s very cute and doesn’t break the canon!

A Hat in Time reviews and comments

A charming 3D platformer released in a time where the genre was thought dead
«Blew my mind»
A Hat in Time feels like it came out of the GameCube era. It has the charm and flaws from that generation. The game has some jank regarding clambering and especially the camera when in tight areas. However, despite these flaws A Hat in Time exudes boatloads of charm and is an absolute blast to play. All of the acts in each of the chapters mostly feel distinct from one another keeping dull moments to minimum. All of the characters are extremely enjoyable to be around because of their fun dialogue which is all fully voice acted. A Hat in Time, even with its issues is a must play 3D platformer.
«Beaten more than once»
Completed as of writing this review: 100% with all of DLC.

Absolutely my favorite game of all time and I'd recommend it to everyone, who likes platformers from 2000s. DLC can also be a good time.

«Just one more turn»
The platforming feels great and responsive, the gameplay ideas make it unrepetitive and also I really adore the artstyle and overall cuteness of the game. Really fun and well made.
First level is unfortunately the strongest. The horror world is just bland and confusing to get around. The movie one is overly linear. The mountain one is overall solid, but the hub-and-spoke structure just makes traversing it tedious. Solid 3D platformer, but more Glover than Rayman 2.
One of the first 3D platformers to come out in forever and boy did they nail everything that was fun about that genre. An absolute joy to play.

«OST on repeat»
I completed the game and gave up at the beginning of seal the deal dlc despite having both dlc yet to play. Unrewarding and frustrating repetition regarding moving through the world. Game always did a poor job of explaining mechanics.
«Oh God i managed it»
I absolutely cannot laud this game enough for everything it does. It is the cutest puzzle platformer I've played in a while with an incredibly unique story and characters. Despite there not being that many worlds and zones, all the areas you explore as Hat Kid are equally as memorable and there is a very obvious level of love and care placed into the design and creation of the game.

You play as Hat Kid, a kid who is trying to get home but unfortunately gets into a bit of a pickle as all her necessary fuel is taken. The art is incredibly cute and the worlds have vibrant color palettes that fit the tone of everything to help support this simple story. Despite its simplicity, the writing is top notch and surprisingly clever at times. Level design is great and plays into the narrative of the worlds in a very strong way, and movement feels good to execute, especially with the added abilities given by new hats.

This is a game that can be equally loved by kids and adults. I can't say anymore other than I highly suggest experiencing this game for yourself. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did, but I'm glad I got to play this!

All I ever want from 3D platformers is to follow the Banjo-Kazooie/Mario formula of combining fun and interesting gameplay with compact and dense worlds. Yooka-Laylee for some reason didn’t get that, but A Hat In Time does. Well worth buying.
The game is an enjoyable collect-a-thon made with adorable 3D graphics and amazing 2D artwork. The music is catchy and fits each level incredibly well, and the voice actors do a great job portraying their roles. The story is very basic, but it works exceptionally well just to direct the player in the game.

This game is great, but I have some issues with it. The plot is fine, but most of the levels are made as separate stories instead of pieces to the puzzle that is the entire story. And to further add into this point, the main villain is not even present most of the time, which makes her development weak. Finally, the game alone is also very easy and doesn't offer enough replayability except to explore the worlds and play the campaign.

All in all, it's a fun indie game for anyone interested in platformers, and it's for all ages.
