About

Battlefield V is the sixteenth game in its franchise.

Plot

Like the original Battlefield, the game is based on the real events of World War II. The game focuses on the obscure battles of the war. It features storylines that tie the battles together and consist of episodes called “war stories”.

Gameplay

Battlefield V puts a strong emphasis on realism. The game avoids video game abstractions in favor of immersive experience of the war. For that goal, the game aims to increase the player's interaction with the environment, such as doors, vehicles, or ammo. The ammo and other resources in the game are scarce, forcing the player to use a tactical approach.
The game gives a spotlight to women in the military who are among the main characters in the campaign. The player might also choose to play a female character in the multiplayer, as the gender is not tied to a class. The game also allows the players many customization options for costumes, vehicles, and weapons.

Modes

Battlefield V has many multiplayer modes, some of which are new to the series and some are reimagined versions of the modes from previous games. For example, The Grand Operations mode is based on the original Battlefield mode called Operations. This mode imitates a military campaign and consists of a series of battles with different objectives and non-linear progress options.

Battlefield V reviews and comments

"We will not capitulate! No never!" Yes, you did! 2 may 1945.
Man, it's not easy to play this game when you know its wasted potential.

Today, it looks truly amazing. The visuals are stunning. The sound design is the best gaming can offer, imo. The gameplay mechanics are a simple evolution of most good things we saw in the franchise. Even though, it's a flop.

EA, one more time, killed another influential game. Games were inspired by battlefield. Not the opposite. The hungriness of money driven by EA left this game launch unfinished, with poor live service and optimization.

After years, the game is playable and completed. But at what cost? hm... you know... 95% of the fan base. You only can find conquest servers, at least if you live in South America, like me. There's no diversity in game modes and no one talks about this game anymore. And that sad cuz, after dealing with all problems, DICE did a good job - unfortunately, too late.

«Better with friends»
Solid war stories. Each is getting better, concluding in the Tiger tank mission. A bit declamatory sometimes though.

(3,5/5)

The Multiplayer is alright, I guess. It has good ideas, which I really would like to have in Battlefield 1, like the construction mechanic and that the tanks and planes have ammunition. But all in all it's too bright and colourfull for a war scenery. The with real money obtainable skins are hurting the immersion and we lack maps. Especially annoying is the fact, that you can't combine the european and pacific maps in the search option. I'm also missing the Russians, Italians, French and maybe even the Chinese. In the End I got the feeling that they have not investest as much love as into Battlefield 1, which is sad, because there is definitely some potential here.

campaign is so so and not my kind of multiplayer

«SIT BACK AND RELAX»
An amazing digital realization of the WWII battlefield. Even in multiplayer, things feel anxiety-inducingly intense, with artillery shells splintering wood beams right next to you, while bullets whizz by. The community has some problems with it, but it really seems to be that games like this just aren't at the forefront of multiplayer anymore.
Battlefield V is missing something. It doesn’t have the same feel as 1 and I don’t really know why. It’s still a solid multiplayer experience, it’s fun, but it’s not the same. The BR mode was an enjoyable bonus. I think I actually had my favourite moments during the BR mode. I was ridiculously good at it because I’ve always been good at battlefield and this one just clicked. I played a bit of the campaign but it didn’t interest me and I didn’t finish it. Overall this was still fun but it did not have the same soul or character or atmosphere or whatever word best describes what this was missing.

Final Score: A-
Not as well balanced as BF1 when it comes to multiplayer combat (respawn points, class build, flow of battle).
Still an decent game though.
