About

BioShock is set in an alternate dimension in 1960. Our main protagonist Jack is the sole survivor of a plane crash in the Atlantic Ocean. With help, he gets to the Rapture - underwater city created by Andrew Ryan that wanted to create a utopia. After arriving in the city, however, he discovers Little Sisters and Big Daddies, and it is clear to Jack that there is something not okay with the city.

Being a first-person shooter, BioShock works with an active weapon and a plasmid, on the other hand, giving the player the ability to use some supernatural powers and developing unique combos with it. Many of the weapons have different types of ammunition that are effective against some specific types of enemies. Same goes for plasmids, as you need to know weapon will be effective. By retrieving EVE, you will be able to fill your resources and use plasmid once more. Although the economics of the game is more complicated as you need to gather money for refilling resources and ADAM for purchasing new skills for your plasmid. In Remastered edition, games framerate and technical issues being fully fixed making this a modern-looking game.

BioShock Remastered reviews and comments

ONE OF THE GREATEST GAMES I'VE EVER PLAYED. PERIOD.
Excellent game, can definitely see why it's so popular and influential now (even if the escort mission is a pain the ass). Definitely some of the best artistic direction/visual worldbuilding in ANY game. Might need to play on console since the Steam version crashes a lot.
Masterpiece. Replayed on switch.
phenomenal game.  cool plot.  cool abilities. great enemies.
the remaster is bad, but it comes with the original game if you didn't already own it and i'm pretty sure most of the drawbacks of that one have mods to help it out
even modded, the remaster suffers from random (not omnipresent, but prevelant enough to note) crashes and really odd sound compression that's never consistent

the game itself is excellent up until the end, where after its
frankly
amazing twist, something still effective all these years later
even if you already know exactly what's going to happen (because you've played the game before, like me)

the game just shits the bed
everything about the game gets suddenly worse because they just have to wrap this shit up
they go full ham to where
the game whose central antagonist throughout the majority of its run time has the name of a genderbent Ayn Rand
turns its true villain into The Wise Guy, the alpha and omega of all evil 20's gangster stereotypes

i don't feel the need to talk about how great the game is outside of that because it's something that pretty much everyone agrees with
but if you don't know, it's a great balance of master class immersive sim style level design melding with streamlined shooter gameplay that is still unique all these years later
this is a prestige title for many reasons - i don't think it's one of the best games ever made, but i do think it's one of the most important
there are few settings in games quite like Rapture

The original game is easily a masterpiece, but the remaster is so sloppy. It was painfully difficult to maintain the drive to finish the game from all the bugs and glitches, and it's especially frustrating considering how much I adore the Bioshock series.

Blue Screen Of Death on Win10.

This alone should be a big warning, especially in times where Win10 tends to cause even more problems on top of the BSOD issue.

Game combat mechanic is good, not great, with the questionable choice of why we cant wield magic in the left hand and a one-handed weapon on the right at the same time, causing unnecessary frustration during the fights.

Too many small rooms connected to eachother feels like a map slapped together with no sense of the magnitude of what an underwater city could offer.
Gameplay 6/10. Graphics 8/10. Soundtrack 9/10. Storyline 10/10. OVERALL 8.25/10. (A 8.0)

Product received for free Bioshock is and has been one of the best Games of all Time for me and that hasn't changed to this day. The Game: The Game simply shows how harmoniously you can integrate a Shooter into a great Atmosphere with a great Story. The whole Game feels like a great Adventure, not least due to one of the most interesting Cities in Video Game history. Rapture is a magnificently designed city where so much of its History can be found. How was the City built? What happened to Her? etc., these are all Questions that you ask yourself during the Game and that make you be tied to the Game. The Story is told through Narratives of many Characters, which makes it all look back somehow and you also have to gather a lot of Things together. The incredibly good Characters and their Story also inspire. Also the relationship of the Little Sister to the Big Daddys and what exactly they are, how they are finished, etc. pp is simply touching and thoughtful at the same time. The beautifully designed Levels, as well as the very beautiful Graphics complete the Game and make it a Masterpiece of the Shooter Adventure. The Remasterd-Is it worth it? : The remasterd is not a bad Thing in itself, it also contains the old Part of the Game. What stands out, however, is that the real Revision of the Game can only be easily seen. You can see here that this was designed for the New Consoles. I think it's great that you, like me, received the Game so free if you already owned Bioshock. Since I was already playing the Game damales, I was able to see some Improvements, albeit slightly. The Graphics in themselves feel the same, but through better Rendering, Textures could load better with me and I had less blurry Textures, unlike my Predecessor. This was especially due to the outdated Direct x, which was not still well compatible. Often it crashed darway, not once. The Game also features a Museum and Challanges, which I did not test, as well as long Commentary films of the Entelwickers, which were included in the Game but did not cause Replay value. These are all beautiful Ideas to give Lovers like me more Insight into the World of Bioshock. Nevertheless, the remasterd is only partially worthwhile. Whoever has it schoin for free due to the first Part can have as much Fun as back then. If you are only concerned with the Game and who knows that the Game is also running well with his calculator, you can also fall back on the old version. For me, this Remaster Is aimed at fans or just those who couldn't play the Game before. Verdict: It's Bioshock as it lows and lives. Great Story, exciting Characters, good Atmosphere and a beautiful Szetting and Bioshock is one of the best Shotters of all Time. The Remaster is not a bad Thing, but you could have invested a little more Time especially in game graphics and textures, as well as Gameplay, and not optimize the Game just for Consoles and newer Hardware. Imagine Bioshock in Unreal Engge 4 or so, haachhh you can still dream!
