BLUE REFLECTION reviews and comments

I am pleasantly surprised by this blue reflection. A typical Japanese JRPG with magical girl sauce, something rather unusual in the videogame world that we all know. The first thing that struck me was the care that developpers brought to the aesthetics of the characters. I am not surprised when you know the passive of Mel Kishida. We take pleasure in observing each protagonist, especially our 3 heroines who possess an indisputable charm. The charadesign of the bosses contrasts terribly with the cute side of the "magical girl" and it is quite enjoyable to confront real monsters that do not resemble small creatures all cute as we eat so well in a majority of JRPG. The game is overall grahically beautiful and very colorful. The animations and light effects flattered the retina every moment during the fights. Beyond the enchanting surroundings of the comon, we are entitled to all the panopli of animes decorations (Japanese high school, amusement park, restaurant of "Parfait", places of shopping...). But despite this list of rather banal places, this does not prevent, for us Westerners, from being totally exotic. If the graphics of the games are a pleasure for the eyes, the music is a real happiness for the ears and accentuate the magical atmosphere of this atypical universe. It is also possible to listen to each track thanks to the Smartphone of our main heroine, a tool that gives us access to a multitude of small bonus features. The band is perfectly glued to the atmosphere and the action retranscribed on the screen. Between relaxing and calm music during the phases of discussions and lively and epic music during the battles and bosses, the pleasure of listening is far from being a fleeting element of the game. The combat system was for me the most beautiful surprise of this JRPG. At first I thought it would be classic, a kind of turn-by-turn system but it is much deeper and strategic than that. Indeed, over the course of the hours, it keeps on enriching itself with a whole bunch of different options and rules. You will have to play first and foremost with the battle timeline, a very important thing since your actions will determine the game's turn of the characters and enemies. Some skills can dramatically delay your opponents ' turn of action. In addition to managing your HP and MP gauges, it will be crucial to use the "load ether" wisely, and to raise the percentage of your reflect, in order to play several skills during the same round of action thanks to the option "over drive". It is therefore possible to care for an ally and inflict damage on your opponents at the same time. Let's not forget "active command", a feature that triggers various useful effects in combat and requiring a minimum of reflexes at the time of activation. Finally, it is possible to make calls to support characters that you can associate on each of the heroines (up to 4). Apart from the combat system, it is important to think about managing the points you earn during a level climb. Each character has the following characteristics: ATK, DEF, support, TECHNIC depending on the points assigned, you unlock new skills, for example, mounting your attack unlocks offensive skills while the support unlocks reinforcement skills. Through the completion of secondary missions, you unlock "fragments". These can be equipped or dissected in order to strengthen your capabilities. The game has a strong ability to customize characters, which adds an extra dimension to the game. Unfortunately, there are still flaws that are difficult to ignore. The scenario is unfortunately very classic and lacks depth and ingenuity. Nothing catastrophic, but it's still too Standart. The second big flaw in the game, the repetitiveness of the secondary missions. Fortunately, the game system and the bosses are compensating for this. In short, I advise this game to all fans of JRPG and that are not airtight to the side magical girl very present throughout the adventure or the system of turn-by-turn combat.
