Caesar IV reviews

Caesar 4 has been a Step backwards in my Eyes. One noticed that here Publishers and Developers changed and one did not build on the Experience of the Predecessors. All the playful Developments of the Caesaer 3 Family (with Pharaoh, Zeus and First Emperor) are futish. Here you wanted to make something new somehow and especially with a new Graphics Engine that unfortunately looks rather mau. Overall, not a bad Game. Hence Thumbs up anyway. But no Comparison with the direct Predecessor. What a pity. I hope for a Caesaer 5 at some point that is closer to Caesar 3 again (with the improved developments of First Emperor, etc.). In the Video I play my German CD version. I tested The Steam Version. Is in English and unfortunately unstable with me. I tested it with different Compatibility Settings etc. Unfortunately, it didn't go well. 2x Crashs in Game time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfnjoml-Wd8

No I do not recommend this game, the old Caesar are much better, here is why:--maps really too small--the efficiency zones of the different buildings are too reduced (one must construct at reduced intervals on a small area while the card itself is reduced!) -The roads are super wide, much too (it make the 2/3 the size of a small house, where is the logic? While the map is small!!) -The interface resembles the old but is less intuitive about statistics/graphs-less addictive scenario-game in English only + beautiful 3D graphics this is the only advantage compared to its predecessors. As you will have understood, the narrowness of the building zone really ruins this game, one is obliged to destroy and rebuild several times on the same area (the losses) to be able to try to offer an access to everything that the inhabitants desire but sincerely, it is impossible to change to the Max the happiness/need of the small insulas; Apart from a few that you will place against the big villas, gold in the old is possible. Anyway, big disappointment.

Forced to admit a bitter more for the graphic effort, quickly surpassed by the basic omissions that made the essence of these games. I do not congratulate its developers for their lack of brilliance on this last installment of the saga.
