About

The year is 1849, and gold has just been discovered in California. You decide to head out west, to seek fame and wealth in the approaching Gold Rush.

Will you strike gold and become an overnight mining magnate? Or will you build your fortune bit by bit by supplying 49ers with pickaxes and blue jeans?Gameplay1849 is a city management game set during the California Gold Rush. Your task is to build towns, populate them with workers, and make sure that they are housed, fed, and entertained. You’ll have to manage and coordinate extensive production and trade networks to make sure your towns thrive.Key Features Of 1849
  • A campaign mode that traces the development of the Gold Rush from mining camps to bustling cities. Each city scenario presents players with unique starting conditions, victory goals, and obstacle events.

  • Sandbox mode with a procedurally-generated map for your location, based on geography (from the Pacific coast to the Sierra Nevada mountains), precipitation, resource availability, and starting lot size.

  • Vivid old west towns with buildings lining the streets directly inspired by California’s Gold Country.

  • Over 50 resources that players can dig up, farm, refine or manufacture as they build complex towns and cities.

  • Developed by SomaSim, a new studio dedicated to producing deep simulation games for today’s players

Great City-building game I had my Fun With. You can see that the Developers have been guided by the great Classic of this Genre. Unlike these Games, 1849 is quite simply knitted. In each one, the total 20 Levels, you only have a small Number of Resources to worry about and that vary depending on the Level. Therefore, the Game was not as monotonous as you would expect from this Genre. It always boils down to looking at what Resources you can sell and then being built in that direction but since the Game is really well thought out, it was never boring. By the way, the Size of the Map is also not a Problem. At first Glance, this seems very small, but it is quite sufficient. It didn't even happen to me that I ran out of space. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZtRXGdQaB4

Fun game. City builder in the style of Westward meets SimCity. Simple yet challenging enough to sink several hours into. And no IAPs unless you want to buy an additional map to play more cities.

The Developers cannot have played through the whole game themselves, as too many moments are missing or wrong in order to move forward. You can constantly restart the game if you want to play further. Mjölko!

The Game itself is really fun. However, the Levels are either very heavy or very light. Level 1 is Really annoying from The Epilogue: Although I have done everything according to The Overview, the Level is not successfully completed. Otherwise 5 *

Unable to register with Somasim to report the problem: our registration is never validated by email. So Sonora level impossible to succeed, it requires the construction of 4 gold and silver mines, and no planned location. The SAV leaves to be desired, do not buy this game

This is a nice city builder which I've enjoyed for a long time. However, since updating from iOS9 to iOS10, the start button for the original story does no longer work, thus rendering the first campain is unplayable. Expac works fine though. One downside is that the app ignores the iPad's mute button.

Construction game in sandbox or history mode. The game consists in creating and evolving cities at the time of the FarWest. Well done, I find this game exciting. Bought €1.99, it has already taken me more than 10 hours of play and unlike too many others, one does not have to wait for hours as your houses grow before continuing to play. Bravo!

Fun fun! However, once you've got the Connections, the California gold rush is pretty easy. Nevada is significantly more challenging. Here you quickly run out of money if you want to move too fast or do Not shut down buildings that produce already abundant Resources or suffer from Material Shortages in a timely manner. There Are still some Bugs: The V & T Railroad cannot be opened if it has been closed while collecting the necessary Resources. Exhausted Mines that burn off for lack of fire Brigade while being upgraded for deeper Shafts cannot be rebuilt. In addition, the Sale via the Railway is very confusing. Since you cannot see the existing Goods, a constant Change from the Warehouse to the railway Menu is required. All in all, however, a nice Pastime.
