About

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is the latest installment in the Resident Evil series. For 13 long years, Resident Evil series were rejecting the survival-horror aspect and atmosphere of first original games in the series mainly released in nineties on PlayStation one system. From the famous Resident Evil 4 until Resident Evil 6, the series went full-force into action genre leaving horror elements behind and hard-core fans disappointed. Finally, Capcom realized that Resident Evil needs a change and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard delivers those changes at its fullest. First of all, the camera angle changed from over the shoulder view into first-person mode. Another change is that survival-horror elements are back together with light puzzle solving, inventory management and maze-like mansion in which the main story of the game happens. The player controls Ethan Winters who is searching for his lost wife in a dark mansion filled with horrible creatures and insane family.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard can also be played with virtual reality setup and it’s known as one of the best games which supports VR.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard reviews and comments

Atmospheric, well adopted to first person view horror series. Starting you think series is far away from roots but over time everything's back where it belongs. #VR adaptation could be much better, but the game is so much better in it. A few clunky puzzle/bosses situations is the only thing that a bit ruined game impression for me.

Well, I beat this game for the second time today with my girlfriend. She liked the gameplay and was pretty scared by the horror sections. To be honest, even remembering some shit, I shivered in some moments too.

There's no more to talk about rn. The game is just memorable and the family is basically iconic. This moral reboot was responsible for the revival of its franchise and I'm grateful since I only played the previous ones cause of it.

Anyway, I totally recommend it.

Pretty rad for a new resident evil game 8/10.
Exhibit one million in why video games can never be scary. Quickly switches from being stalked - a frankly welcome addition to the horror genre that has taken way too long to catch on to big franchises like this - to shooting galleries. The stalker sections are good but few and carry the same issue of every other stealth-heavy horror game: the first time you die, the horror is gone instantly and you see the checkpoints.

And then the combat is just combat idk. I played easy because I heard the enemies can be damage sponges and geez even on easy they're still bullet sponges. That's not scary nor is that challenging, that's just frustration. I think the game balanced ammo and new weapons often enough - saying nothing of taking away your weapons for an entire section - that the issues aren't so obvious, but it ultimately just isn't scary.
As 13 year old me first saw the trailer to this game. I simply shrugged it off and thought. Meh. This blows. Then one day my I saw my uncle had a copy. He lent it to me and said “mate, try this. You won’t regret it.” I had never been the same since. This was before I got my own PS4, my mum and dad had to watch me play through the game instead of normal TV because I was that infested into it. My dad even had to peel me off the sofa because I was glued to the game wanting to continue it.

I have then gone on to complete this game countless times. Earned the platinum trophy twice, Bought every other entry on the PlayStation, learned parts of the script off by heart. And now randomly quote this game wherever I go.

But how was the game? Simply put. Brilliant. The game was scary, the atmosphere is chilling.  And the overall story was just fantastic. Capcom really did an amazing job on this game. On my first few runs it was actually scary. Of course overtime that fear died down. But I still love this game for what it is.

AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE VR VERSION! Holy shit! I wanna forget I played that so I can be in awe again at how disgusting everything looks up close. People I know got motion sickness within the first 5 minutes from playing the game in VR, I just refused to leave VR when I felt sick. I loved it that much.

The DLCs are great too. End of Zoe is just fun as fuck. I find 21 replayable constantly trying to beat survival+ mode. And hey. I sunk 19 struggling minutes in Ethan Must Die.

I actually went ahead and made this game the first I beat on the highest difficulty, and yes. Madhouse took me two years to beat. But it’s fucking rewarding.

I love this game. I will never stress how much I do love it. If there’s one game I will ever suggest to anyone. It’s this. And Village was just as good.

First scary RE game since.... ever?
Played: February 13th,2017-May 19th,2017

Scary! The atmosphere is great and the villains are excellent. Ethan isn't intriguing, but is serviceable. The two endings choice is also not that needed.

Grade: B+
Absolutely terrifying and masterful experience. A true return to form for the series. It puts you in a situation where you don't know whats going on only to relater reveal the crazy bioweapon plot that is central to the series.

Excellent.

Very creepy and scary game, especially the beginning. The RE2 remake got so much praise but I stand by this one is better. The FPS feel to it is great and allows for a tighter scarier feel.

The ending is a beat weaker. Not bad but not as good as the first chunk of the game. This is my favourite survival horror game so far. I don’t count the last of us, it’s obviously better and has survival aspects but not really the survival horror feel I’m talking about.
