Having been pushed too far, one human faction has begun its fight for independence, sparking a civil war between the newly formed FCR and the domineering ACC. However, not all battles are fought on the front lines: as FCR operative James Weston, you've been deployed far from civilized space, sent to investigate the disappearance of an allied team on an unforgiving alien world.

Dropped into the middle of the wilderness, relying on your wits may not be enough: you're going to want an arsenal, and the planet has everything you need to build one. An abundance of exotic ores and plants are ready to be turned into cutting edge workstations, mid-battle snacks, sturdy base defenses, and (of course) a dazzling array of high-tech weaponry. Between the savage creatures and merciless soldiers that roam the land, you'll need every bullet you can craft in order to come out on top.
With these tools at your disposal, you'll have to pick up the trail of your compatriots, forging your way through a lush forest, descending into the bowels of the earth, trudging through a frigid land of ice, and beyond. Just be mindful of your body's needs - out here, thirst and starvation are as dangerous as claws and guns, and death isn't picky about how it gets you.
For those undeterred, the world's secrets await discovery. Weston has a mission to accomplish: do you have what it takes to see it through?

Seeking Dawn Free to Play Edition reviews and comments

Translated by

First Of all: It's a free Demo and it's just the right approach for VR-in my Opinion, just the right APPROACH to currently marketing VR games-after all, most VR owners have already spent enough money on software that subsequently turned out to be scrap metal. Played with Oculus Rift + Touch, Intel i7 6700K @ 4.7GHz, 1080Ti Played on Max Settings ingame, without Anti-aliasing and with 1.6 Supersampling by OculusTrayTool-but almost continuously in the ASW on 45fps, but I personally hardly bothered that here. Graphically, the Whole thing looks very chic, both the Intro Sequence, the short Visit to the Spacecraft and the Alien Planet, on which one moves in the (rather short) free Mission. So far in VR, I have seen little that comes close to that of the Attention to detail. Grade the Alien-World seems very coherent and lively, something moves everywhere, fiddly, Blubbering Recliners and strange Cattle Fats. In the Above settings, I could not make a terrible ' Blurry mess ', which is often stated in other Reviews. The moway and Comfort Options are superbly implemented, hardly an Option has been omitted. Anyone still getting problems with Motion Sickness here should put VR aside. And even though I personally have hardly Any problems with Motion sickness and usually completely switch off such options, I found the Helmet displayed to be absolutely coherent and very cool-so it remained:) Unfortunately, there is not too much to do in the Mission. After a short Introduction, one is sent directly with a rich Arsenal Of weapons and has to make your Way through a rather dark Cave System. You will find a few spider-like Aliens who want to go to the Leather. However, these are quickly broken down with the Shotgun or automatic Gun. Those who moan here, it would be too hard, have either not found the Menu for the Choice of Weapons or shoot simply inside. The Feeling Of shooting is, in my Opinion, perfectly fine, it can be well aimed and hit. At the End of the Mission, there is a Boss who is also not a huge Challenge, but endures a Lot. After that, the Demo ends, but without displaying a clear Ending-you just can't get any further and can walk around the boss room endlessly if you like. The Menu Control ingame is quite well solved, but personally I sometimes had some Problems with the Choice of Weapons, because you can, so to speak, ' reach ' into the Menu to take what you like. However, You don't really have to ' access ' it, but only touch the chosen Object. The Menu, however, appears so close in front of you, which you sometimes have something in your Hand that you didn't want. Overall, I liked the short Episode despite minor Flaws in the Menu. The Quality of the Game seems to be at a very high Level by VR standards in wide areas, which I Think alone already justifies support. I would like to see more VR games allusive through a free Demo. The next Time I Shop, I may be going to be dragged away for Purchase.
