Dark, philosophical, and complex, Persona® sets you up in a modern day Japan that has gone into chaos. Demons run free, and you and your team must navigate corruption, mental frailty, and an alternate version of your world to bring your reality back into order.
Offering a second opportunity to experience the beginnings of the acclaimed Persona series, this remake boasts a fully re-localized script, revamped user interface, faster battles, expanded soundtrack, and new in-game movies with voice work added just for the North American release.
The inner selves known as Personas are your key to progressing through the adventure, adding skills and incredible depth to your battle tactics. Expand and improve your collection through the Demon Negotiation system that offers spell cards that you can later fuse into new Personas.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona reviews and comments

Finished on 03/21/19 (PlayStation Portable).

+Excellent Story
+Multiple Personas to collect something akin to Pokemon
+Multiple Endings
+Two paths: The main one focusing on the game's original plot and an alternate one.

-3D Dungeons very boring and way too repetitive
-Characters (Except Maki Sonomura)
-Combat Mechanism
-Grinding is over the top
-RNG to enter combat way too exaggerated
-Unable to escape all the battles (must use items to avoid them as a workaround).

(Strongly recommend the manga instead, since this entry does not have the social aspects of 3, 4 & 5 and gameplay, in general, seems pretty generic and dated.)
