About

With over 2 million copies sold, the new episode of the most internationally successful S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series seamlessly connects to the first part of the Shadow of Chernobyl.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat takes PC gamers once again into the vicinity of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor that exploded in 1986. This so-called "Zone" is a highly contaminated area cordoned off by the military and now is combed through by the so-called stalkers, modern fortune hunters, in search of unique artifacts. In the role of Agent Alexander Degtyarev, who is dressed up as stalker, the player has to investigate the mysterious disappearance of five military helicopters and thereby stand one’s ground against the various stalker groups.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat reviews and comments

      Translated by
      Microsoft from Deutsch
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, better than its Predecessors? Foreword: I played CoP with the Misery Mod 2.1 (think it was 2.1), because, like its Predecessors, it is only half as much Fun without totally conversion Mods as it is with those. Unfortunately, I can't compare the Story with the predecessors in terms of the Depth/Plot, the last time Stalker is unfortunately a little ago. Nothing to Be defiantly related to the moded Misery Version, so I ask you to take that into account! So let's first See what I can contribute to The Review on Pros and Cons, after which I will tell a little freely and conclude the Review with my Conclusion Afterwards. Please note, I'll just mention a few Points here, so that the whole thing doesn't get too off track. Pros: For a relatively old Game very nice Graphics. A very thick Atmosphere, as in all S.T.A.L.K.E.R. parts. Every set of different Weapons. Quite a lot of Armor And Helmets. A metric ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ton at all possible Items. Interestingly designed Maps. A pretty well designed Story, for an S.T.A.L.K.E.R. part not even so bad! Cons: Crashes ... And really many of them! Probably the biggest Problem is Random Crashes to Desktop (RCtD). Quite a Lot of bugs, broken Missions, defective Triggers, etc. (Many of the original Bugs, however, have already been fixed by Misery. In addition, the Changelog for the next Misery Version contains a Lot about more Bug Fixes, etc.) Unfortunately, the Game with Misery can only be played in English or Russian. German Text is possible, but Voiceover is not. But that doesn't matter, the German original Synchro is qualitatively at Metro Level ... And it was not so good. Unfortunately, broken Savegames Are also common. One of the bigger Problems, however, is AI, especially in the last Mission ... Seriously, how can something like this happen? Companions who need Protection and flee from the Player to die lonely. The Performance, even with Misery, is unfortunately not quite so cool either ... Too obvious You can see, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat, as well as the other Series parts, fights with extremely many Problems, lack of Polishing, the Laziness of the Devs, Teething problems and typical Serial Problems. That's why I recommend Playing with installed Misery or Complete Mod! However, I prefer the Misery Mod, but that is up to everyone. Conclusion: As you can see, the Review makes my Opinion seem divided, but I have to say that I really like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. CoP, the Game is just Fun, whether it comes to crashes or broken Scores. Whether the Performance even on modern High-End Systems likes to cause Problems or the Game decides not to want to start. Call of Pripyat is really Fun and so I don't understand the Hatred you bring to the Series. So If You have a Buck on the Genre and a Game experience with a really high Degree of Difficulty, you should definitely try S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat. So my Answer to the Question that was asked at the beginning is: No, I Don't think it's any better, but it's not worse either. It can entertain just as well as the Predecessors did, you just have to show some Tolerance.

Well, it’s an old game, I know, but the problem is not the age but the quality. The game is not involving. I tried to dive into it, forced myself playing. The atmosphere is great but all the rest is boring. I’d better play Fallout than S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Call of Pripyat genuinely combines FPS and RPG elements, and will be enjoyable for fans of both genres. Your actions do matter, there are multiple endings, side quests and remarkable characters. Locations are large and give you more lore information and create the atmosphere. They even added realistic survival mechanics, like the need to eat and heal or bandage yourself if you’ve been injured. If you never played S.T.A.L.K.E.R. before, it’s not a problem - the game feels like a standalone title.
