About

Colonize Mars and discover her secrets, with minimal casualties.
Welcome Home! The time has come to stake your claim on the Red Planet and build the first functioning human colonies on Mars! All you need are supplies, oxygen, decades of training, experience with sandstorms, and a can-do attitude to discover the purpose of those weird black cubes that appeared out of nowhere. With a bit of sprucing up, this place is going to be awesome!

Surviving Mars is a sci-fi city builder all about colonizing Mars and surviving the process. Choose a space agency for resources and financial support before determining a location for your colony. Build domes and infrastructure, research new possibilities and utilize drones to unlock more elaborate ways to shape and expand your settlement. Cultivate your own food, mine minerals or just relax by the bar after a hard day’s work. Most important of all, though, is keeping your colonists alive. Not an easy task on a strange new planet.

There will be challenges to overcome. Execute your strategy and improve your colony’s chances of survival while unlocking the mysteries of this alien world. Are you ready? Mars is waiting for you.

Main Features:Building a sustainable colony in space:Building on a planet not fit for human life challenges you to build a smart, functional colony. Bad planning isn’t about traffic jams, it’s about survival of your colonists. You really don’t want rolling blackouts in a city constructed in a place without oxygen.Individually simulated colonists:Each colonist is a unique individual with problems and strengths that influence the needs and behavior of the other colonists. Things can get really interesting if your chief scientists develops alcoholism after one too many long nights in the lab.Futuristic Space Dome construction:Retro-futuristic super structures housing colonists, factories and commercial buildings with their own “neighborhood personality.” Create colonies that value science over everything else, while tired workers drink their pay away at a local bar, or attempt a utopia among the stars.Exploration of Mars’ secrets:Inspired by the classic sci-fi of Asimov and Clarke, Surviving Mars holds many secrets. During each playthrough players may encounter one of Mars’ individually crafted mysteries. Uncovering these secrets might bring your colony great fortune, or terrible ruin. What is that sphere that manifested itself outside colony HUB B, and is it friendly?Randomized research tree:Combine static and random research through experimentation, which allows for a different experience for each journey through the game. Attain new scientific breakthroughs by exploring the uncharted terrain of Mars's surface.Unique retro-futuristic aesthetic:A sleek, modern take on the bright futurism of the 1960s. A time of exploration and adventure.Expansive mod support:Craft your own fantastic buildings, parks or even a mystery to share through Surviving Mars’s extensive and convenient modding tools. Share your finest creations with the community to build the perfect society.

Surviving Mars reviews and comments

First Impression mega exciting, but when playing initially There is Frustration. Especially around the Drones is still a lot of todo. Downside, mainly Drones:-I have to send drones individually (can't draw a Frame?!) to Metal Deposits. The Latter are not shown to me on the Map and I have to look together with difficulty. (I mean the Aegards)-Said Drones chillax like to work around instead of making their way to said deposits, which is almost Normal At first. You can work with Rovers, but I don't want to be forced to do that. -Total Drone Management is totally fiddly, I can't assign the Critters collected to a new Drone Base, but have to search and manually assign them individually. -In the case Of a further Base margin, networked Drone Bases seem to become essential. But I can't influence prioritization centrally? Why are Rock Remnants constantly transported 2km from a to b, but the Maintenance of the Drone Base itself is forgotten until Deactivation? -Rock remains appear to be a Pandora's box. Defiant that there is still Room at the Final Camps around the Corner, my Drones constantly cart the Rubbish back and forth, preferably to the far-flung storage of my Water Facilities, rather than making the Nearby One full at the concrete Works. -How the Hell do I get Drones to access resources that are not in my own But networked territory ...? Insofar as this can be done at all, a Tutorial would be nice to do so. Imagine miles of Lines that want to be serviced. Should I now hold by hand per Drone sector resources that I need for Maintenance? There is a mischief, because something like a Water Supply likes to be somewhere else on the Map. These are Design Misdecisions of very massive Extent IMO. Those who are already full of it, almost do not get so far as to drive their own Colony neatly in front of the Wall, which is what makes the Game. On the Upside: Because this is about learning from Mistakes and tramling harder at the second Attempt. Typical Survival actually. Surviving Mars gets Going. Resource Management and Forward Planning is the order of The day. Those who have not planned well here will quickly see their Inhabitants scare away. That also makes Buck, and is demanding. The Game is not an Egg Rocking Number if you've picked out some crisp Starting Debuffs. By The way: The Game has NOTHING in common with Factorio. Another Commenter suggested it was a Clone Of Factorio and Cities: Skyline. If then it is much more of a Banished on Mars, or Banished + Cities: Mars. tldr; Interestingly For Banished Fans. If you can look past the cracked Drones Usability, you will certainly find a successful Change here.
