About

Tropico 5 is a government simulator with a strong sandbox aspect. As El Presidente, a dictator of the Tropico island, you need to develop it through four eras from the Colonial Era to the Modern Times. The game features such mechanics as trading, managing resources, research, and diplomacy. The multiplayer mode expands these mechanics, allowing players to share resources, help each other and even declare war.
Unlike previous installments in the series, Tropico 5 focuses heavily on the citizens. The prosperity of the island depends on their happiness and the balance between ten in-game factions.
Tropico 5 features two modes. The campaign includes 15 missions; the goal is to uncover the antagonist's plans and stop him. In the sandbox mode, you can create your own island and manage it, completing different tasks and developing it through ages.

Tropico 5 reviews and comments

A Game for the "Wannabe Dictator ..." The Game idea of Tropico was actually to dominate an Island Kingdom on which you can be the sole ruler, the Dictator. Unfortunately, the Developer has come off with every further Game and presents with Tropico 5 a Wannabe Economic Simulation that tries to be everything but can't do anything right. Why would I want to play Tropico 5? I want to be the total Ruler who has all the Possibilities open to shape his Island World as he wants. As El Presidente, this means sole Rule, the Dictator. Unfortunately, this is hardly possible in this Game any more. There are almost no Ways to "suppress" his People as this should not run on the pink Dream island anything as they want to gather huge Rebel Troops to go to the Muts in the 5 Minutes. In general, this would not be so bad if it was not the AI of one's own Soldiers that would be roughly like the IQ Of a Butter bread. The Troops walk around haphazardly and would rather let the Rebels running after them shoot them down than turn around to shoot back. Whoever then believes that the expensive Fighter Jets can help you is wrong. Thanks to "topicanic high-tech," these need a total of 10 to 15 attacks (equivalent to about 70 rockets) to succumb To a 6 Man Rebel Squad. Furthermore, the Contentment of the People is felt mostly completely Warhol'S and hardly comprehensible. Why aren't three Churches and two Hospitals enough for 300 People? Why do I build heaps of cheap Apartments so that half my people prefer to live in Huts while the Houses are empty? And why Do I have to constantly make sure that even the last Farmer in the Village feels 100% comfortable. I want to build a Dictatorship with a strong Economy and a frightened People, unfortunately the Game only gives me the Opportunity to build a Dream World democracy. Unfortunately Tropico 5 is no longer what the Game used to be. If I want to play an Economic Strategy Game, I reach SimCity or Cities Skylines. I have been playing the Game since the first Part and have to watch with Disappointment how from a Game I once loved so much a mass-ready build-up/Economy game was tried to reach more and more potential players but just can't do what it used to be .... And as far as the Graphics are concerned, I hardly have to say anything. Who stands on completely exaggerated colored And over contrasting Graphics OK. But If you want to build a "hard" island Nation of alla Cuba, you can hardly imagine this with a Toddler just graphic Like this ...
