About

Verdun is an indie multiplayer squad-based FPS developed by M2H and Blackmill Games.

Gameplay

Verdun is set in the World War I period and is inspired by the French Battle of Verdun. The game is historically accurate, featuring multiple WWI weaponry, uniforms, and equipment. To display the horrors of war, the game also features a detailed injury and decapitation models.

Most of the matches of Verdun feature 32 players, yet it is possible to up that number to 64 in a private Frontlines mode match.

There are four game modes in Verdun:
The main mode is Frontlines, in which two teams fight over the sectors of an enormous and authentic frontline maps. Depicting the typical trench warfare of WWI, the players attack and counter-attack each other in turns. Each player is a part of a 4-player squad, with each squad having its own perks. 12 types of squads are available. Upon joining a squad, the players have to choose a class available to their squad type.

The Attrition Warfare mode is basically a common Team Deathmatch. Each team spawns with a number of tickets that deplete when a team member dies. The first team to lose all their tickets loses the match.

Squad Defense is a cooperative horde mode when a squad of players defend themselves from waves of opposing forces.

In Rifle Deathmatch, the players participate in a free-for-all deathmatch, where every player fights for themselves. Players can purchase attachments for their weapons after killing their enemies.

Verdun reviews and comments

There are very few games about «World War I», perhaps because to many, this war seems less spectacular. There are no intense battles here, as most weapons are single-shot, although some squads have exceptions.

«World War I» is trench warfare, where the main tactic is to shoot at the enemy and take cover, rather than launching direct attacks.

The main game mode is «Frontlines», where players advance the front line and fortify positions.

The high-quality map design should be noted: Argonne Forest, Arras, Flanders, Picardy, Vaucouleurs, Vosges, and others. Each map has its own unique atmosphere.

Each side has its specialized squads:
«Entente» - Canadians, French Alpine Troops, French Infantry, British.
«Central» - German Alpine Troops, German Infantry, German Shock Troops.

This game is an excellent example of balance, combining hardcore gameplay and realism.

Early Access Review In Principle, The Game is fine. It offers a fresh Scenario with the First World War and that means we also fight in the First World War, including Trench Warfare, Bayonet Attacks as well as Tear gas attacks and the like. Automatic Weapons are rare at sea. Apart from the German mp18 and one MG per army (mg 08/15 for the Central Powers, lewis gun for the briten and chauchat MG for the franzrated) this is due to the historical Background. During The First World War, the Repetitive Rifles formed the Core of The Armament, which makes Battles in Verdun quite difficult compared to CoD, Battlefield or Counter strike. Nevertheless, the Battles do not get boring. The Game phases Constantly alternate between Enemy moat Storming or holding your Own Trench. In particular, I always like Melees with said Bayonets, although not every Class has one. That Officers can't faad at their Lugers is clear but at least every Soldier with Rifle should get one in my Opinion, just since the Piston Strike takes up to three Hits to get someone done and that's just too much in The Melee. Since there is no Friendly Fire, grenades can be used excellently both offensively and defensively, even those reserved only for the Grenadiers. Otherwise, there are always nu Firefights over hundreds of Meters through the No man'S Land, where unfortunately you are also well and gladly shot from somewhere without having a Chance to identify the enemy Shooter. All Reptier Rifles make One hit kills, the faster firing guns atone the Damage and are 3hit kill weapons, as are the mgs. The Mortar strike requested by the Officer then carries a Tear Gas Attack becomes really Atmospheric. In this Gas you go blind after some Time if you do not immediately put on your Gas Mask, which even every Soldier has;) There are basically 4 Classes. The Officer initially goes into battle with Pistol and Binoculars, but can improve at some point by using the Class 3 times, so that he later has grenades for Example. The Shooters are self-explanatory. They have normal Rifles with bayonettes And can later use Target Telescopes to act as a Group Sniper. The MG shooter starts with a gun, the Right to shoot MG has to be played first, but what goes quite quickly. The Grenadier has access to Grenades that should be saved for the Attack. They are good Melee units and mostly at The Front FRont (my personal loving class) Unfortunately, the TEchnik is not yet so dolle. Animations are relatively weak, the Graphics leave something to be desired and overall the Controls feel woody or bulky. In particular, the Grenade Throw animation and the Bayonet Toss can be seen. In Addition, the Grenades in the Explosion do not sound really powerful, but rather dull. For that, the popping of the Rifles goes full in order. In Addition, the Developers are always open to Criticism and continue to tinker with the Game. If they "brush" the Animations a bit and polish the Game technically in general, VERDUN can really become something. I wouldn't be deterred By the early access STatus and right now in sale hitting alone for the slightly different Feeling Of playing than what other MP shooters offer. Thanks for reading who has lust to play together can write me Adden/;) My Recommendation has the Game
