Andrew Prokhorov
Andrew Prokhorov is Ukranian video game developer who is well-known for his work on the Metro: 2033 series, Venom. Codename: Outbreak, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.
Career
In 1997, Prokhorov was a 3D graphics designer in GSC Game World. He made additional art content for the WarCraft 2000: Nuclear Epidemic game and DoomCraft RTG. After his trip to the Chernobyl zone, Prokhorov developed one of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, the Shadow of Chernobyl. In 2006, he left GSC Game World and became a co-founder and art director of the 4A Games studio.
Impact
He has been working on the famous Metro 2033 series, on Oblivion Lost development and design. When he was the leading artist of the Venom. Codename: Outbreak shooter, Prokhorov got inspired by the Strugatsky’s books. At first, Venom should’ve been a part of the Doom series, but GSC decided to make it into a new game. One of his well-known works as an art director is Arktika.1.
