The Apple II series was a family of home computers developed in 1977. It was a significant advancement over its predecessor, the Apple II, regarding usage, features, and expandability. At the time, it became the most popular model from Apple but didn't change much throughout the 1990s. It had advanced graphics and sounds. Apple II was one of the longest-running mass-produced home computers. It was highly successful and won the competition with the Amiga platform.
The design was originally an olive green with matching company logotype; to increase sales, developers put rainbow stripes on the logo. The games released especially for Apple II were mainly the adventure and arcade ones. For example, these are Castle Wolfenstein, Karateka, Prince of Persia, and Lode Runner.
