About

The year is 2052 and the world is a dangerous and chaotic place. Terrorists operate openly - killing thousands; drugs, disease and pollution kill even more. The world's economies are close to collapse and the gap between the insanely wealthy and the desperately poor grows ever wider. Worst of all, an ages old conspiracy bent on world domination has decided that the time is right to emerge from the shadows and take control.

Key Features:

Real role-playing from an immersive 3D, first-person perspective. The game includes action, character interaction and problem solving.

Realistic, recognizable locations. Many of the locations are built from actual blueprints of real places set in a near future scenario.

A game filled with people rather than monsters. This creates empathy with the game characters and enhances the realism of the game world.

Rich character development systems: Skills, augmentations, weapon and item selections and multiple solutions to problems ensure that no two players will end the game with similar characters.

Multiple solutions to problems and character development choices ensure a varied game experience. Talk, fight or use skills to get past obstacles as the game adapts itself to your style of play.

Strong storyline: Built on "real" conspiracy theories, current events and expected advancements in technology. If it's in the game, someone, somewhere believes

Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition reviews and comments

Deus Ex 1: Game of the Year Edition (v1.112fm) Note: Game was played by me at Release at that time outside of Steam once and now 18 Years later played again on Steam. POSITIVES + Gloomy cyberpunk setting + floor Reflections + 11 Skills such as Chopping, Cracking locks and Gun meeting Security + experience Points with which you can increase your Skills specifically + great Freedom of action + always several Solutions in Form From Gun violence, technical Assistance or Secrecy (the latter even goes so far that you can play through the game without the hands-on killing of an Opponent) + Implants with two Ways of improvement to Choose from + many scientific Background information with Nanotech as the Main Topic + Emails, Books, notes, Mottos + Allusions to influences of classical Literature + Trilemma at the end, in which the player must decide how the History of the World should continue (but this is not in the Successors Or extensive good Mods such as GMDX and Revision NEGATIVES-Graphics were contemporary at the time, if a little cloudy And rather expedient, but today it is hopelessly outdated (but there are mods that play the Game with high-resolution Textures and through Redelate technical Adjustments)-Resolution a maximum of 1360x768 (here the Revision mod helps)-no German Voiceover, although this was announced at the time and The Speakers had already been booked-no German Texts and Descriptions although this since Release There are (!), which is simply a Cheekiness; Due to the sometimes quite long Texts, this is also much Less fun, especially since you have to read and understand various e-mails here-outdated Technology in The form of the Unreal Engine-weak Gunplay-antiquated handling FAZIT Deus Ex Plays in a bleak future in 2052 And is the first Part of the Deus Ex series with Release year 2000. It is an action Role-playing game with stealth and First-person shooter elements. Thematically, the Game revolves around Cyperpunk, Dystopia and Conspiracy Theories. One plays JC Denton, a nanotechnically enhanced Agent of a fictional U.N. organization, the UNACTO. More and more Conspiracies and Underground Organizations are being uncovered and attempts are being prevented from usurping world Domination. It may be that Deus Ex 1 is a Milestone in the game's History and has advanced the Role-playing genre, but I do not forgive a Game of the Year Edition if it is published on Steam Without a German Translation, although the German Texts are available. I mercilessly devalue this Immorality and therefore cannot recommend it. Mind You, this only applies to the local Steam version. But in general, the Graphics are just so old baking that even I'm reluctant to do something like this today. The Successor Invisible War Should also be left with your Fingers. Human Revolution and Mankind Divided are clearly recommended, though. Note: On the Schlote page [schote.biz] you can find the German Subtitles, but these no longer work when you install the Revision Mod. If you are interested in further Reviews of me, follow my Group.
