PS3 is a home gaming console released by Sony in 2006. There are three models of a system: original (also called "fat"), slim and super slim. They vary in weight, body materials, and Blu-ray drives. PS3 is the original successor of PS2 and predecessor of PS4. The system uses Dualshock 3 as gamepads.
Compared to its main competitor — Xbox 360, PS3 is often seen as more exclusive-oriented platform considering many unique IPs originating on it: The Last of Us, Uncharted and Resistance to say the least. The platform is first to feature Trophies system: an analog to Xbox'es Achievements but divided into categories: bronze, silver, gold, and platinum. Later on, for a game to pass the Sony authentification committee, the game must have had trophies. After PS Vita release there is also a Remote Play feature available allowing the player to broadcast the image to a remote Vita via the internet.
