Hitman 3: Contracts is an assassin simulator game developed by IO Interactive. It is a third installment in the Hitman series.

Bleeding out Agent 47 tumbles into one of the rooms in an unknown Paris hotel. He passes out and starts hallucinating about his previous contracts. Each of these memories is a single mission that has to be completed by the player.

In contrast to the previous game, the detection can be avoided much more easily. The enemies barely notice the Hitman dressed in someone else's clothing. They can still notice you if you stand in front of a guard for too long or openly carry a knife. Players have a lot of options for killing their target. Environmental kills are now much more common. For example, in one of the missions, the player has to eliminate a target using a pillow.

The game now features a much more gritty tone. It usually takes place in foggy, rainy or snowy environments. There are many locations in a game ranging from a gothic manor to a meat processing plant where a BDSM party is held. 7 of the game's 12 levels are remakes of Hitman: Codename 47.

Feels like an expansion-pack for Silent Assassin. It's generally less frustrating (certainly nothing here feels as broken as some of the Japan levels in SA) and more polished, but for whatever reason (maybe because I only played SA as a teenager) nothing here sticks in my mind the way some of Silent Assassin's levels do. Critics seem to love the Manor House level, for instance, but between a first playthrough more than a decade ago and a replay just recently, I had completely forgotten it. The opening Asylum Escape level is probably the best idea here, and it's just a reimagining and reversal of Codename 47's last level.

A very mixed opinion for this Opus of an excellent series, and this in two points for summary:-many times of missions of the 1, with an empty story, which is interesting only for the final episode. So no real content, no new gameplay, scenarios, or puzzle (very little in any case). -There is still a Hitman game which is a legendary series for me, and I still took pleasure to rediscover the universe and to immerse myself in some old missions. Also, I think it's a good compromise to say that it makes bridge between the 2 (bein better and much more complete than the 3) and the 4 (which I have not yet played at the time I write this review), especially that it is not very long and not very expensive. So recommended because it's a chapter of a long story, but I'm not going to say that it's a full-fledged video game, facing Hitman: Silent Assassin, which was really more complete at the scripting level and level design. The soundtrack is nonetheless fantastic and the slight graphics upgrade adds a bit of life. Graphics: 14/20. They are good and consistent with the time (FarCry 1 or Fable 1), and the characters are really well worked. Gameplay: 17/20. A bit subjective because I love the mechanics of Hitman, disguise themselves in order to go unnoticed, possess a monster arsenal and use only the piano string, dozens of ways to proceed, but a few points less because not so much novelty compared to the previous Opus, and a little too easy when you get used (points of interest are too obvious to find and use). Soundtrack: 19/20. For the shot extremely satisfied with the image of his two big brothers, an immersive soundtrack, intense moments with the ambiance that goes with. A real success signed Jesper Kyd. Storyline: 8/20. Maybe it's a developer's choice or a fan request, so maybe a bit subjective, but I can't say they have endeavoured to write a story like that of Silent Assassin, the resumption of old levels should have given a "codename 47 HD "and not a" contracts ", and the whole story of the Opus could have been summed up in a cinematic five minutes on a bonus mission of Silent Assassin. But once again, small price and short duration, the 10 hours of play remain enjoyable. Overall: 13/20. Without being revolutionary, Hitman: contracts is a pleasant sequel to Silent Assassin, the missions are quite easily chained without getting bored. This high note is justified by the series that remains excellent, and because I think it announces a 4th part with much more scope. Be silent and bruters, enjoy!

I don't know why this Hitman is my ultimate favorite of the series. Maybe because it was the first for me. But much more believable point would be that this game simply rocks! It has amazing atmosphere (especially soundtrack made by Jesper Kyd is AMAZING) and dreadful levels (mental asylum, slaughterhouse and so on). And Agent 47 dying in the hotel between missions and missions as his visions, sad it's fiction but it kicks us.
