The platformer that started it all. The formula has certainly been refined over the decades but the original still hasn't legs. Not the best in the series but definitely worth a play whether you want to revisit a classic or just want a decent platformer to play. 7.5/10

The original Super Mario Bros. is incredibly difficult, just throwing that out there.
The physics don’t quite feel right, the music is repetitive, the graphics are very simple even for the NES, and if you get a game over, you start the whole game over. Very unforgiving.
The game is noted more for what it started than as a standalone. Worth checking out, but don’t get your hopes up. It hasn’t aged well.

Obviously a classic. Really tight gameplay for the system. Unfortunately, as a product of its time, the game suffers from artificial difficulty. This combined with the lack of saving makes it consistently frustrating to play.
