A Cold Escape
About
WASD to move,
Q - to light a torch, Q again to throw the torch
E - to open doors, containers , or access the truck to leave the level
F - to place your trap or pick it back up
LEFT CLICK - to attack with axe, which also can break down tables for wood (for torches)
SHIFT - to roll
(PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR HEALTH + FREEZE level or you will die eventually)
Search the area and collect supplies (Food) so you can continue on your journey.
You will take damage periodically from the cold, but this can be slowed, or even recovered if you find sufficient warmth. You can return to your vehicle to get comfortable, or craft a torch.
(Also, your truck, or sitting next to multiple torches is warm enough to heal frozen damage.)
Monsters roam in the city - the damage they deal will PERMANENTLY decrease your health.
Throwing a torch can stun them temporarily. A trap will stun them for longer, allowing you to safely kill them, but you only have 1 reusable trap ( it can be picked back up).

My second game ever made in godot!
An impactful, but easy, improvement for next time would be polishing the main menu and the game over logic. Right now they dont feel very good since I tend to do things like that while rushing at the end - next time I think I will do those first.
Also lighting in godot seems to be kind of glitchy. Torches randomly don't work and I'm not sure why.
All art, sound, and code was made by myself during the jam (only thing I really reused was movement code lol)
Art was made with aseprite. I used a combination of real world sounds or playing with instruments in a DAW (LMMS) to get the sound effects.
Special thanks to KaleOverlord for providing the music! - I would have used something generic otherwise.
