Age of Mythology: Extended Edition reviews

One of my first games. I love this game, I plan to try Age of Empires as well. For me, it is a good RTS with lovely mythology, a good scenario, and a very funny multiplayer.

I don't think you have to say much more about the Age of Empires series. Since 1997, this Set-up and Real-time Strategy has captivated many Players. The first Part was set in Antiquity, the second in the Middle Ages and "Age of Mythology" brought into Play an additional mythological Component in 2002: Legendary Beings from different Legends such as Greek Legends, Nordic Epics and the agyptic World Of the Gods. An Expansion added a Titan to each People who can be created as a powerful Being in the last Age. You can follow both a very interesting Campaign, which teaches you the Game as a Tutorial in the first Parts and then offers varied Missions by all Peoples. Or you might pounce on your Opponent in a Game against the Computer. You can choose from a Variety of Options such as Card Size, Number of Enemies, own God, gods of Enemies, etc. I was captivated by this game for a long Time, for a short Game it was always good. I was all the more pleased when the Extended Edition was announced in 2015 and a new Addon with new People, the Chinese, was announced in 2016. The Graphic was slightly hung up and a Way to Modden has been inserted. In addition, the Game now integrates into Steam workshops and offers Successes and Collectible cards. My Opinion on the Extended Edition is a bit ambivalent, but I would still recommend the Game after over 500 Hours. However, one should be able to live with the Shortcomings, it is not perfect. Pros: + Interesting Missions from the Atlanteans to the Agytper, Greeks, Vikings to the Chinese. + Many different types of games and Winnings, such as a complete Conquest Or the Construction of a wonder of the World. + Balanced Peoples, even if I prefer to play with the Atlanteans and Uranus as God. + Very stable Engine, I only had a Crash very, very rarely. Neutral: o Graphics not at the Level of Time, but from my Point of view still ok. If you have to be realistic With great Animations, you should look for another Game. O The requirements for the System have been increased by the Pretty Up. My Notebook starts Jerking frequently lately when many Opponents and Effects need to be displayed; That wasn't the Case with the older Original. Cons:-The Extended Edition and the Add-on seem to have made the Game engine much worse. So Units sometimes look for totally illogical Paths. And in Attacking generic Settlements, Caravans and Villagers are preferably killed, while their own Units are being put down by the Enemy-WTF?! -If the Game is played in Full screen and uses a different Resolution than the otherwise Set, then you can no longer operate it after a Window change (Old + Tab or the like), as the click of the mouse lands anywhere else, but not where the Pointer is located. Only an End by Task manager helps. Other older Games can do that much better, at Spellforce, for example, I didn't have that Flaw. Conclusion: Worth Playing if you like Real-time Strategy, especially the AoE series. But you have to be aware of the not perfect Implementation.

Still good as it was 15 years ago
Disappointed. Everything I wanted this game to have is a good multiplayer to share my joy with friends. Instead I have something dull and buggy - and completely unplayable. I wish you didn’t add this mode at all, as it’s just awful.
«Disappointment of the year»
A game for those who like to play it big. Here you can throw lightnings, arrange storms, freeze opponents and use every privilege you can take from the Greek Mythology. The battles here are huge and epic, and you definitely love the variety of abilities you have to destroy your opponent.
