Product received for free me, when I was little and I said that I saw monsters, we wanted to send me to the asylum:/
Alan: rift breakers, released in 2018, is a story, a new one, where we follow the story of Alex, flaw breaker during the récres. (Sometimes during classes, but remember the kids, you have to work in class. Dirty kids.)
I got a key from the developer. It did not influence my judgement.
I'm not going to talk about the original A.L.A.N. game, which is available in this release. You will find a link to my evaluation a little lower.
The most:-well, I did remake the original version in order to remind me of the flaws of the "old" version. Well, that's much better. The characters finally have a personality, a way of speaking that is their own. Anyway, they finally have a soul. Through this, we can identify with the character, understand his behaviour and actions, and live the story.
-The background of the game is also finally developed. We learn a lot more about the flaws, the history of this world, the implications (and complications) of faults and monsters for human lambdas. There is an interview of the mystery still, but well used. We are given what it takes to satisfy our curiosity, but we are also hiding enough elements to keep a "hype", an interest in history.
-The story is much better written. Through the various chapters of the game, one will move from one character to another, entering into his thoughts, his ideas and discovering the story through his child's look. Moreover, there is the concern of the detail that I like to see in a book. Everything is described, analyzed, as a child who discovers the world around him.
-I seldom liked the stories where it is the children who tell the story. But there, the lexical field used is appropriate, dosed, which makes it all enjoyable to read, without falling into the silly side that I repugnant.
-A 100% simple success. Just finish the remake and the original story. (And go into the credits too)
The minus:-for the time being, 1h, I find it too short. Especially that there, with the universe that the developer has created, one has to go even further. I wanted to live a little longer the adventures of A.L.A.N..
-Too bad there is no music with the songs that can be seen in history. That there is no music during the whole game does not bother me, since I see this "game" as a book (and at Bibi, we read books in peace), but it would have added a significant extra value to have these little songs.
-Still a little work on writing, there are some phrases that could be better turned, written. This is important for immersion, and for the interest that the player can bring to this game.
N.B.:-small reminder, no images, no gameplay, it's a story. With letters and words, only.
-Evaluation of the game A.L.A.N.
--> See here conclusion: Alan: rift breakers, much better written and realized than its predecessor, will transport you in a rich, promising universe, with a rhythmic history, although still too short.
