This game has left me doubtful. It is not bad, but it is far from perfect. Which makes it hard to really recommend.
The +: the story is interesting. One is the last survivor of a human installation on an inhospitable planet and one attempts to repair a capsule to return to Earth using an AI and simulations of different inhabitants (now deceased). Throughout, we will discover a little more about the last events that took place and the fate of our former companions. The pixel art rendering is successful, the places visited are diversified and enjoyable to explore. The music is pretty and fits well with the environments/events.
But the big-: gameplay is the main flaw. The first two weeks of the game, one literally fills a tchek-list. Get over here. Scan this. Find this. Repeat it five times. Access a room you unlocked. Continues. Come back when you're done. Talk to a simulation. Start. It's a long time and it's getting boring. It does not feel like playing, but rather pushing a button to advance the story. And we are perpetually interrupted by the AI that accompanies us, we clear the cobblestones of text. And reading, we read. A real novel every day. There is no sense of choice. The encounters with the simulations of the different characters seem preestablished, and the choices of answers do not seem to actually have a real impact (other than the same answer but with a positive, neutral or negative twist).
And it's a shame, since everything changes in the third and last week. We finally feel an interest in playing. You have to take out pencil paper to record information collected in different areas to access a computer or a sealed room. The game really becomes a game rather than a simple animated graphic novel. And the problem is that it is only at this moment that one really wants to discover the life of the different characters and to access the different ends. But having to replay for hours to retype the first two weeks. Beef. Will try to unlock all the ends, but much later.
So, unless you get it in discount at low price or in bundle (like me), or to be a big fan of the romances adventure game... This is far from a bad game, but the first parts would have actually won to be more refined (with some puzzle game as in the third part maybe).
