The Game is medium sumptuous. It is a Point & Click of ordinary Design that somewhat reflects the Atmosphere of old England. The site of the Events is Plymouth in 1894. We take turns playing the Crook Timothy "Tim" Moor and the Detective Briscol. While the former wants to raise the Money for a crossing to America through a Burglary, the latter must take care of the Disappearance of a newly buried Nobleman. Both Storylines come together relatively late, where the two then-rather necessarily-try together to solve the Mystery surrounding the Disappeared. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1565409493 This is interesting and it is to some extent so, until you realize more and more clearly that this does not merge in a sinful way. The Actions and Motivations are increasingly implausible and the Conclusion surprising but also unsatisfactory. Some Things that initially seem only (positive) puzzling actually make no sense. Just how and why the Dead man died and rose again. From a Gameplay point of view, the Game is classic. It's about moving forward through Dialogues and objects to be found and used. This is mostly easy, provided you use the display of the interactive Points. Fortunately, only the Points that already or still have meaning are displayed. So you often have to visit, question or investigate everyone and everything again and again in order to get on. Some "emptied" containers, for example, contain other Objects, some People then give something known. Finally, it becomes very linear, downright visual Novel-like. Some Puzzles, however, although not difficult in themselves, are so absurdly illogical: From behind through the Chest to the eye. Other Puzzles, in turn, are quite fine. The Flair of Old English, this stilted, is palpable by almost everyone. This is partly nice when even the Washerwoman talks as if she had attended a Benmming School. The Wallpapers of a mostly Gloomy English Town are well done. The Animations are sometimes a bit tedious to watch, they must always run before something else can happen. And how the Detective to telefine always takes off his Hat ... The Sound is good. All Texts are spoken in English and quite well, with typical English Accents. There is probably also a German Version of the Game, but not on Steam. The Control with the Mouse is simple. Fortunately, Dialogues and Paths can be shortened Somewhat. Only a "Quick Trip" through the Map would still have been nice. Viewing The Interaction points with F1 is very useful. If you're just looking For some Pastime, it's OK. It hasn't become a really successful Game. The Title, Alter Ego, also remained inexplicable to me, by the way.
