AlternativA is not a bad but also not an outstanding Adventure. It's Craft fine. Graphically it is atmospheric but in some Scenes the Shadows seemed to me as persons and Objects as glued up. The most important Point of criticism is History.
While this is still somewhat Interesting At the Beginning, it is later dispensed with the Necessary Answers or the production of credible Connections.
In the Beginning, the World of AlternativA and its Technology is quite suitable for a Setting in the near Future, but the Story sweeps practically a Minute before its End in Climes that would suit a Star Trek episode. In a very harried End, something is conjured out of the Hat which I Think doesn't really want to fit the Rest of the Adventure. Presumably a Sequel was planned and so you are farewelled with a Lot of open Questions and a rather unsatisfactory Cliffhanger.
Is the Question Left if it is worth the 10 Euros I have invested?
For the 10 Euros there are some Adventures here on Steam That I liked a lot better. As an Example, I can think Of Primordia or Resonance. Graphically, these do not approach AlternativA, but have an atmospheric and self-contained Story. However, If you already have everything at this Price Level, you might be Able to consider AlternativA.
For me, AlternativA at a Price of around 10 Euros therefore only creates a very very close: Yes

As Sorry as I do, I can't recommend this Game.
For a small Price you might be able to play it once, but without a Sequel it makes little Sense to me.
The Setting is nice dystopian, the Graphics are appealing and the Atmosphere comes across well. But a big Minus point is the Story, or the End. The Story itself is partly a little clichéd, but over time becomes more and more exciting, there are more and more loose plot threads, Questions that are raised and one feasts towards the Dissolution of everything-only to then full Broadside of an unsatisfactory End to be hit.
On Gameplay: The Way the Puzzles have to be solved is annoying in Part because you frequently have to go back to places you think you would have explored and that there would be nothing left to pick up there. For me, some course of action was not entirely logical, or comprehensible.
What I liked was that you can actually die and that there are two different Approaches to solving at least one Point. I've been fluorising about game Logic often enough, but if the Story is good, I can look past something like that. Only, as I said above, does the End break everything.
An open End is not bad in principle, but an End in which nothing is clarified is considered extremely unsatisfactory.
Really long the Game is not, I played about 5-6 Hours until I had it through. Will probably play a Part again to look at the other Alternative (but it doesn't change anything in the End ...)
So as I said-not recommended. If you want to buy it, then I recommend you wait until it is really, really cheap.
