aMAZE, the first game in the Blender Games Studio available on steam, is a puzzle game sold €0.99. What to remember from this succession of labyrinths after seeing the end? ✔ ️ 50 levels spread over 3 levels of difficulty ✔ ️ colorful wallpapers ✔ ️ relaxing soundtrack ✔ ️ possible replay ✔ ️ achievements and steam cards to unlock ❌ very short (ended in 40 minutes) ❌ gameplay perfectible ❌ lack of variety in the formula ❌ soundtrack too little provided ❌ lack of generalized finish if it is considered a game sold €0.99, aMAZE is not a bad title per se. It allows to end of fifty levels to the gradual difficulty, in an approach of relaxation pause. But since the good intentions of the developers do not necessarily make the best games, this one suffers from some flaws. For example, the handling of the ball (using the arrows on the keyboard) is sometimes painful when it comes to moving it around the corners and sides of the labyrinths, as it becomes "magnetited" by the walls and is slowed down in its movements. Note that the difficulty makes very little difference from one notch to the other; the puzzles remain simplistic and you will come to grips very easily. Other refinable detail; the inner plots of the labyrinths do not enjoy the same thickness everywhere, which is quite strange, visually. Likewise, the ball that we move varies according to the levels (ball, soccer ball, simple sphere...), but its image remains badly distouched in places. This kind of little detail leaves the impression that this is a project developed by students on their free time; a small game exploiting a concept already seen but still appreciable for a small session, which plays the map of the relaxation aspect (addition of relaxation music) to better propose a succession of levels without real flavor and to the realization perfectible. A minimalist effort that also capitalizes on the presence of successes and steam cards to attract customers around a symbolic price. To summarize, this is a little decent game but not unforgettable. Depending on your degree of indulgence and your nostalgia for the backs of cereal packages, you will have a more or less mixed experience. It's ugly to say that, but you'll certainly end it in less than two hours; Therefore it remains refundable if necessary. Evaluation of aMAZE 2 here. A bundle of all aMAZE games is available here.
