And They Also Roll

And They Also Roll is an RPG that uses pachinko mechanics for combat. You place floppy discs tied to abilities onto the board and then try to hit them with charged balls. When a disk is fully charged, it activates a battle effect. We made this for the GMTK 2020 Game Jam, which had the prompt: “Out of Control”.

You play as Isolde, an isopod engineer whose strange world is threatened by the awakening of ancient machines that drive their discoverers mad. You influence the tide of battle with strategic placement of control disks and deft launching of balls. Can you defeat your opponents before the machines become too unstable?
