First of all, I have to say that I Have already played Part 1 & 2 of the Art of Murder Franchise with FBI Confidential and Hunt for the Puppeteer. These were very nice Adventures, but they didn't stand out from the Crowd.
So My Expectation of Cards of Destiny was: More of the same. At first Glance, it also seems the same as its Predecessors, but the Game surprised me very positively. What is the Reason for this?
1. The Game tells a really exciting Story about a Serial Killer who directly involves the investigating Agent in his Murders. The Setting is sometimes pleasantly grim and the Killings are inspired with "Saw" elements. Until the End-after about 10 Hours of Play-you fall into the Dark.
2. The Puzzle Design and Pace of Play is topp. No moon-logic, no annoying sliding Puzzles, no unnecessary Items or Pixel Hunting. You only ever have a manageable Number of Items with you and the Solutions are all logical. Except for a Trial & Error passage, the Game doesn't afford Dropouts, which is extraordinary even for very good Adventures.
For me, therefore, this is an absolute Insider tip for People who want to experience an exciting Crime story with not too frustrating Puzzles.
