Attack on Titan / A.O.T. Wings of Freedom reviews

Got Attack on Titan down to a T, but completely invalidated by its sequel
The perfect gameplay for what you would expect from Attack on Titan. Sadly invalidated by the existence of the sequel

Contrary to what the non-recommendation would suggest, I appreciated this title at its fair value. I love this game. However, once finished, it is a feeling of disappointment and unfinished that remains in me. I will summarize in a few points. Also know that playing without a gamepad is rather complicated. Positive (+) > respect of history for missions and good integration of game mechanics in the main story mode. > Success of the three-dimensional displacement system and anti-Titan combat techniques. The game is dynamic and we are surprised to stop after cleaning an area to blow. > Music and sound atmosphere respectful of the universe. > Respect the attitude of different characters in posture and interactions. > Respect of the universe at the material level (blades, sleeves...) > multiplayer stable. > Playable multiplayer, despite the lack of a means of communication other than the microphone. Negative (-) > Dear (and again, I thought not so much with the-10% until I finish the story mode). > DLCs costumes that should be free. The Titans that can become untargetable in areas with too much obstacle: they fall and cross the scenery, breaking the rhythm of the game. > Story that stops right in the middle of the plot. We do not know who are the colossal, armored and bestial Titan that we have defeated and it stops there. > Limited playable characters. I would have liked to play characters that were going to die, see Create an avatar (4 Max.) of the 104th Brigade, with for choice of difficulty, the rank of skill (C, B, A or S). > Levels limited to 7 and predefined skills often repetitive. Few unique skills. > Impossible communication in multi without microphone. > The "real" mode is just the story mode in "harder"-best reflexes of the Titans, etc.-so why have you put difficulty mods for the basic mode??? > Multiplayer purely gadget. Players tend to be embarrassed rather than cooperating. > Escort quests can be bugged in multiplayer. The secondary quest saynetes (killing a type of Titan, cutting members, etc.) are fun to see, but I would have preferred to have them in a slightly more elaborate cinematics form (as in DWs, which is not much to ask) rather than having 3D characters waving in front of a text window, as in a Visual novel... If it was too expensive to do in 3D, why not have opted for 2D, as in tales of Symphonia or other similar quality titles. In summary: I like the game and I would have recommended it despite the fact of not being able to create a soldier or the lack of playable characters. No, it's the fact that the story suddenly stops right in the middle of the plot. We have a taste of unfinished when there would have been more drama to know who are the famous Titans that we end up confronting. I thought to myself, €50, it seems justified... for me, this game is only justified at a price of €20. The end of the story mode leaves a horrible feeling of disappointment. This will not prevent me from enjoying it, but in view of the menus, I expected much more content. It smells so much the DLCs that will add chapters to €60. Shameful. €60, it's a complete story. Unless you are an unconditional fan or love the stories that end up leaving you a bitter taste in your mouth, go your way or expect good big balances in a few years. Edit: I would regularly publish this evaluation until I consider it to be complete. Note: some say, "history has been rewritten, so do not complain". I simply answer, "when I go to see a movie at the movies, even if it is good in the beginning and in the Middle, if the end of the script is lame... It's lame. This is the same for a game, especially if it is adapted from an animated series. " Personally, I wonder if there was really a screenwriter in the development team. For studios like Tecmo & Omega force, I expected much better. Especially as the story mode is a bit the main mode of A.O.T.-the wings of freedom. So to gag an end because we have the license is not to respect the so-called license. At least they could have made the gadget effort, such as allowing to create a player avatar and making it die at the end during the last fight, there it would have been as cruel as class. But here they make the sauce rise... and they stop because they have more content... had to stop before.
