August in Ischl
About
It is the year 1853. You are a young minor noble who is going to spend up to a month in the famous Alpine resort town of Ischl. You plan to improve your health, meet as many interesting people as possible, be invited to evening events and generally have a good time.
A "Sommerfrische Simulator" and a game in which dying from boredom is actually a game mechanic. It was planned as an entry for the "Historically Accurate Game Jam", but I missed the deadline by a few hours ...
This is actually pretty historically accurate. All the persons mentioned are real and were in Ischl in August 1853. Arrival dates are randomized, though. All the places are real, even the names of the mineral waters are real ;-) The plays in the theatre were shown in July and August of 1853. Definitely not historically accurate: The protagonist's gender does not influence what they can do and whom they can meet.
Pure interactive fiction without any graphics, made in Twine/Harlowe, I plan to do a really pretty graphical version someday.
