Review of the Release Version after 4.4 Hours Of play A beautiful and well-done Building game In which you have to build a Colony and keep it alive in more or less adverse Circumstances. It is not a City Builder, but there are (currently) too few Buildings for the Population. Anyone expecting a Game like Sim City, City Skylines or the like is unlikely to get their Money's worth here. In the Game, one is primarily concerned with the Management of the Colony. You have to provide food, Water, energy, Air and the relevant Building materials, create Living space for your Colonists close to their Workplaces and also research and do Expeditions. There is always more than enough to do, there is always a lack of something, initially mainly in building Materials (Nanites) and Manpower. In the Beginning, Aven Colony seems somehow trivial and simple, as there is a small Commodity Cycle but no Transport System-the Goods teleport to where they are needed. As a Result, the Placement of producing Buildings seems indiscriminate, but it is not as simple as that, after all, you have to provide Air and nearby Residential areas as well as police and Scrubber Drones. Nevertheless, there are many Games in this Regard with more Depth and Challenge, but Aven Colony is not an Economic Game. I just failed in the 3rd Mission and the first Time. This World has almost no Cultivated Areas and the small agricultural Land is very far away, so its Use is not an Option at the Beginning, so you have to keep yourself afloat with Trade and in the first Attempt I am miserable with my usual Strategy Failed. Ultimately, because of the first two Missions, which are extremely light and basically an extended Tutorial, I got far too reckless to the Matter and I was punished for it. The Game offers 7 Difficulty levels, normal is the 4th and which affect some Things, including the Launch raw Materials, mission rewards and the Frequency of Alien Attacks. The Missions so far are trivial, mostly you have to build a building, reach a certain Number of colonists, trade some special Good, have more Population in the Colony or carry out a few Expeditions. Not really exciting, but that wasn't to be expected either. The Alien Attacks are not a Problem so far, basically boiling down to Aliens Contaminating the Colony. With Guns you can try to shoot them down beforehand and if you don't have to do that, Scrubber Drones have to eliminate the Damage. The Research seems a little disappointing at first, you can only unlock a few agricultural Goods, but that changes. In the 3rd Mission, I was able to unlock a Lot of other Things-or I could have done it, the Colony wouldn't be frightened. This includes Upgrades for the Expedition Ship, which improves its Combat Capabilities. I'm excited to see if there are actually Fights here or if you just get some Message, let's see. Of course, there are also a few negative Aspects. Despite good Statistics and Overlays, there is sometimes a Lack of overview, the Game Messages cannot be configured, so you can also get constant Information about Things that are not really interesting. Currently there are only 10 Cards that are used for the Campaign and Sandboxing Fashion, which is certainly too little in the long term, but in this respect I am optimistic that a lot will be delivered. The Landscape is nice to look at, but quite static, there are hardly any Living things or other Things that you can easily observe on the side. Overall, I am very happy with Aven Colony. It runs on my approximately 2 Year old 800 Euro PC WITHOUT Crashes, I only saw Bugs in the Tutorial (too small Text windows) and at the moment motivates me to play the Game really further. As Far as I have read, the small Development Team should also be very committed and actively develop. At The moment I value the Game with 7.5/10, with Potential of 9/10, if something is improved. I can't say Anything about Long-term Motivation yet, I haven't seen enough for that yet.
