Backup Drive

The Maelstrom consumes more and more of the planet every day. Only the Bearers can stall its consumption, by wielding the formidable Backup Drives. However, doing so costs the Bearer's life. Now, the brave ones have run out, and the rest have fled society. You are the final Bearer with the drive to sacrifice themself for the sake of the world.
