Wasn't sure about this one, since anything with a cop narrative can be iffy. It does play on racist stereotypes unfortunately.
Despite some of the problematic narrative content, I enjoyed the overall gameplay and found myself immersed in the day cycles. There's a lot going on but the controls are learnt by increments so I wasn't too overwhelmed.
General goals include meeting different types of ticket quotas, responding to thefts, and keeping police, mafia and general public point systems balanced daily (can't always please everyone!).

A great disappointment:(
The graphics, the soundtrack, the ambiance: great!
The dialogues: OK, even Yes BOF... (go... We play the revival year 80 full, so live the racist and sexist jokes... but the disclaimer warns;))
The story and finally the gameplay that goes with: but pourqquoiiiiiiiiiiiiiii this waste!!! We can do in chains the same repetitive tasks, we give the choice for unimportant tricks (euhh.. NaN I do not want to buy dope, uh OK for a bribe, not OK to let the cars Rob...), by cons 0 choice for the moments a little crucial/heroic where one finds oneself to be rather of the kind "bad COP" even if we do not want...
In short, in the end, I cracked... I uninstalls without going to the end... It almost never happens to me: ' (well, other comments are super laugious, so this game may not have met its target with me... but look well before you buy!

Beat COP is one of those games made for the nostalgic 80-90 years, in the same vein as punch club (humor and multiple reference to movies of the time.
PART NO-SPOIL: beat COP puts us in the shoes of a crime detective in New York. Worries, he sees it demoted to the post of simple neighborhood COP. Even if this role can be simple and boring, it will surprise you. Good except the goals of PV to put every day, we find it to settle conflicts of neighborhoods, whether it be intervene on offenses, help the traders and inhabitant, or manage your relationship with the underworld and the local gang. And of course in a backstory, try to find your old post.
SPOIL: we find this in front of a gamepley that can show very cruel. From my first part, 14th day, I get shot down by gang members, without any powers to do. This is where I realized that the moral choices we are proposing are not only there for our karma, but also to allow different actions, solutions and endings.
The secondary scenarios, and the main scenario are vriament well done, funny and surprising. Well I'm not telling you you're going to type your arse on the floor, but at least smile.
The grand finale puts you in front of a real choice, revenge, whether it is bloody or more subtle, or find your old post with more privileges but left justice aside. Yet after this choice, nothing, no last discussion, nor a view of the results on a personal level. You will only have a newspaper article that shows the impact of your choice on the company.
TO conclude without SPOIL: frankly I love these games that make you go back full of childhood memories, all the children of the years 80-90 we knew the police series or the cops were not always politically correct but still did their job (the best example of the badarse cops at the time is probably Starsky and Hutch). The decelopers are able to produce a captivating game, with old school graphics, and an easy-to-handle gameplay. It shows well that it is not enough to have a game that is full of eyes.
The scenario will amaze you, the atmosphere will amuse you and the choices will make you ask real questions about the allignement of your personal, the good of the neighborhood and your...
