Bird Game (Xanderjam)
About
This game was made as part of the Spring Xanderjam in 7 days. the theme was evolution, and (after some research) I decided to use birds as a key aspect, as they are usually the first creatures used when teaching evolution (Darwin and the Finches).
I initially was going to go for a more realistic approach with actual wing physics and advanced controls, but the physics required quickly dawned on me, so i turned to more game-like movement and mechanics instead, with EXP points, level-ups, and abilities, as well as unrealistic food pickups that float in space, as though it were some sort of modern arcade game.
This was my first jam and it was really fun to do, but also quite stressful in getting everything I wanted into the game (which i failed to do in some cases). i cant wait for next season!
