Black Ink
About
Black Ink is a new, non-realistic GPU based painting application that, instead of imitating traditional tools, brings new inspirations to every artist.
Forget about pen and paper or watercolor and discover a new, generative and truly computer based way to create. Black Ink’s non realistic tools makes creating original pictures fast and easy, whether you’re an experimented artist or never used a painting program before.
Black Ink gives you the freedom to modify your brushes in any way you want and no real life constraint is going to stop your imagination. You can create the perfect brush, or the most crazy one, and share it with other users for unlimited variations and effects.
Black Ink’s unique and simple node-based system allows to very easily assign behaviors to your brush as well as create limitless advanced setups.
And thanks to Black Ink’s GPU technology you can forget about the pixels and work on high definition documents. Don’t worry about the resolution anymore and just create a 4, 8 or even 10k picture and draw without slowing down on real, full bitmap documents.

Black Ink is in early access
..................................................................................................................................................................................................Why Early Access?
"In order to achieve this we chose to put Black Ink in the hands of the users as soon as possible to gather feedback, adapt our development to their needs and also help us finance the project while staying independent."
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
"Black Ink will stay in early access as long as we feel something too important is missing.
This is an iterative development and no fixed date is set but we hope we can call it complete within the next two years."
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
"Every feature in the full version will appear during the Early Access process as we develop them.
We are planning on adding more options to brush creation and even a way to mix them together, more drawing tools like symmetry and cloning, better management of layer number, more customization options like custom keyboard shortcuts, new presentation for some UI elements and other improvements asked by the community. We also aim at releasing on OSX.
You can see a detailed list of planned developments here"
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
"Black Ink is fully functional and each update is tested and stable. The ongoing development is all about adding features. A lot of people are already enjoying drawing with Black Ink (here) and are giving us feedback on what to add next to make it better."
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
"Black Ink’s price will raise as it becomes more complete and attain a full version value once it leaves early access.
We will announce major price-changing updates in advance so everyone can get a chance to get it cheaper."
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
We closely monitor our community activity for feedback, bug reports, feature suggestions and of course drawings! That’s how we keep Black Ink stable and usable.
Each feature development is evaluated according to what our users are asking and we are of course happy to publish the best drawings on our network.
We also have an ‘Alpha’ program that users can sign up to. This version is a work in progress of the next release, it contains the features we are working on and testers can help us make them as complete as possible and stabilize the release.

Less ne Review and more of a Recommendation.
I would like to draw attention to the BlackInk programme, a Programme currently being developed by a small Indian Studio.
I have been using the good Part for about two Years and can only report well on this and its Development.
First of all, I come to the thick Plus points:-O, for Example, I can use my old Graphics tablet with BlackInk, which I have been using since about 2007, while even IT has Problems with recognizing my Tablet.
-Before my current Computer, I had an ancient just UNDER 2GB of workspace. But even on this One, BlackInc ran better than it and PS as it basically demands less Power from the Machine.
-THE PRICE. Currently, BlackInk costs 44.99 Euros, on the Developer side as well as on STEAM. And even though the Program is still in Development, I personally feel that it is more than worth this Price.
What you shouldn't do with This Program is compare it to Photoshop and Co.
BlackInk is NOT meant to edit Photos, but focuses primarily on the digital drawing and that you can create your Brushes and adjust every Detail and Behavior of the Brushes.
This goes so far that one probably uses mathematical Formulas from whom I have no Idea what they mean.
I'm working more in a "classic" way with the program at the Moment. This means sketching and drawing my scanned sketches with the more simple Brushes or.
As mentioned earlier, I think the Program is great.
I look forward to getting deeper into the Brushtool later and creating my own Brushes and accompanying The future Development of the Program.
Accordingly, I would like to see a relatively small Team have more Success with it, have to do less Contract work and be able to Concentrate more on BlackInk.

As a Photoshop user for years, I came across this Program, which immediately made a very interesting Impression. With Ease one seems to be able to create abstract Worlds and you probably also have a very powerful brush control then at Your fingertips. The Price went fine for me and so I bought the Program as well. After a few Hours Of training, I can say: I'm pretty excited. In fact, the Program allows brush control that can't keep up with Photoshop. It is possible to create a Variety of individual Brushes. The entire Style is based on abstract Lines and Forms that can ultimately give an Image. Document Editing also works very well and everything seems thoughtful and clear. Of course, you have to work your way in. If you know Photoshop and similar Products, you won't be able to just get started right through here. The Program is gradually unfolding its entire Possibilities.
But as it is, no Program is perfect.
I have seen a negative Number of the small number of Levels that can be created. I know that the Program is designed for "No-Undo" so practically that one builds up with a few Levels and with a lot of Creativity the Picture, but despite everything at least a greater number of Levels would have been advantageous. At least with me I also noticed that the Program often lost the settings of my Wacom tablet when starting, so I had to calibrate the Tablet again. Also a Negative Point is that so far there are few Possibilities for color control, which are essential in my painting style. Photoshop clearly has its Nose in front.
Conclusion: The Program is very well programmed and tries to make the weakening, the Photoshop has better and that is the brush control, of which I am very enthusiastic. For Sketches and Sept-arts, the Program is absolutely recommended because an abstract Painting Style is easily possible, but it should go into Detail so the Program will not be able to keep up. In My Opinion, Black Inc, in Combination with Photoshop, is probably the most Ideal thing to do.
Edit: Some Time has now passed and so far nothing has really happened since the Developer last came forward. The Program is still really great, but you can now note that the Time between updates is very high. At The moment I don't see any Reason to give a Thumbs down but it really should I do something slow. Not everything is perfect yet.
Edit2: The Update came now and has added really great new brush features. I Like very much!
