Review Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate To anticipate it right away, I can't fully recommend the Game to anyone. Unfortunately, here at Steam There is only hop or top. Therefore, I recommend the Game in principle, but with Smears. Arkham Origins Blackgate is originally a Game designed for handheld consoles (Playstation Vita, Nintendo 3DS). Honestly I would never have bought the Game, I received it in the "Compensation package" to Batman Arkham Knight. And since it's always my Goal to play through all my Games in a storytechnical way (even if I;) a bit behind here in my Steam Games), of course I wanted to play Blackgate as well. You definitely mustn't compare the Game to his big Brothers in the Arkham franchise now. If you expect something along those Lines, I think you can only be disappointed. In Principle, this is a classic side scroller, in which one moves from time to time also "into the Depths." You can see the Relationship to the Arkham series (E.g. the Appearance of the Characters, sounds, functions of the Gadgets, etc ...), but in Principle it already was. Blackgate comes across almost completely storelessly. There are a few Comic Pictures from time to time (Videos would be exaggerated-the Images are moved, but without Animation) with a few Explanations, but in The End All this Is not relevant. Time, Blackgate plays right after big Brother Arkham Origins. Still, in my Opinion, it doesn't Matter if you played this one or not. Graphically, Blackgate doesn't have too much to offer either, you notice the Game too clearly that it's designed for weaker Platforms. If you get into it, you can have a lot of Fun with the Game. At least that's how I was doing it and I found it really refreshing to play a side scroller again for the first Time for many Years. It is played almost exclusively in the namesake Blackgate prison and this is divided into three Main Areas (plus a rather small Additional area). In the Areas you can move more or less freely and it is left to the Player in a certain Frame to decide in which Order he proceeds. As playing Time progresses, you have more and better Gadgets and thus also get into Areas that were previously closed (in the Metroidvana style). Since it is not really relevant for storyall, Blackgate can also play a little side by side if there is a little Time. In any case, I enjoyed beating myself through it prison. However, I wouldn't spend too much Money on the Game. But if you got it-like me-to Arkham Knight, you should risk a Look. Technically, Blackgate makes a very mixed and unexcited Impression. It doesn't look really bad now, but it doesn't look good either. However, the Atmosphere of the Arkham series was captured quite well. The Sound and the Language Getaway go in Order, but there is only an English Setting (and German Subtitles). I played the Game with the Gamepad and again the Controls go OK. However, it is clear that Blackgate was originally designed for a different Control. So the detective view is quite cumbersome (but important, since you have to scan some things before you can use them) and the Use of the Gadgets is sometimes often stubborn, because you can't choose the Targets sensibly freely (as usual from the Arkham series) . I can't say Anything about Keyboard control-but I could imagine that it is much more unrelaxed. You should definitely play a Game like this With the Gamepad. :) Otherwise I had a few smaller Bugs (Threads in The Floor, the Wall or the Button to go "backwards in the Room" was not displayed. Here, only one reboot from the last Checkpoint helped. But they are extremely faier and often distributed. In order to be able to play with maximum details here, it should be problematic for hardly any Computer (I played on the following Configuration: Core i7-2600k @ 4.5 GHz, 12 GB RAM, Geforce GTX 970 SLI). Allerdins I had Problems with 4k DSR, it was only ever shown a Quarter of the Screen. Some Games solve the Problem, while others somehow cannot solve it. I didn't Feel like investigating now though, so I just played on 1080p. :) My Rating: Graphic: 5/10 Sound: 7/10 Circumference: 8/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Gameplay: 70%
