BLAZING STAR reviews

So I have bought almost all the shooter in the art and have to say besides the shooters from cave the here also looks from everything top!! But level 6 there listen to me;)

I had it for the Neo Geo and I still believe today one of the best shooter ever made! Excellent conversion, good controls, great extra finishes like Scanlines and more. Nice game!

I would rather have been a Pulstar implementation, but you can also be satisfied with Blazing Star. And if this is a 1:1 implementation, one can be even more satisfied. The only thing that bothers me is the somewhat sluggish Control. Hence only four Stars. Hope an Update brings some Improvement at some point.

The Neo-Geo Classic is neatly implemented. There's not much to say about the Game itself. Back then at Neo Geo One of the best Games. The Control is always a Problem on a Touch Device, of course, but you can choose the most suitable from three Possibilities here. There is an Arcade and Mission Fashion. What more could you want for £1?

Bonus! Bonus! Bonus!.. screams a girls voice almost each second when you fire away at swarms of spaceships and stuff, collecting 'bonus!' that will change your firepower (or something) into fire, bomb, lasers and anything you can throw at all the evil that tries to kill you. The graphics are amazing on this classic Neo Geo port, but WHAT an overdoses of stuff for the human eye to handle! (And I whish there was a mute button for that bonus-girl). Compared with the amazing controls of R-Type, Blazing Star's spaceship moves slower over the screen and could use therefore a sensitivity setting. If you like R-Type style space shooters then you can't go wrong with Blazing Star!

The Game itself is excellent, but has received justifiable criticism for its lack of control. This is not a problem if you use a Icade or a Icadekompatibel control. At first glance, however, Icaden does not work with the game. For some reason you have to be able to use Icaden first start up the game, wait until the first track is running, press Homeknappen to go out of the game and then start it up again. Then Icaden works. Until you die and start up a new game, then just repeat the procedure. Incomprehensible circumstance, and probably depending on a bug. Fixed This, the game is clearly worth the highest rating, provided that you have access to a icade.
