I started so hot on this game. Have a moleskine filled with notes and possible clues. At some point while playing the RNG just got so stupid to where I had multiple runs that ended quickly because of bad rooms being drawn. There are a few things you can do throughout the game that help to mitigate stuff like that but even as I turned down rarity and such it still became a slog. It wasn't until I was almost done where you have one clear objective that things seemed to work better. I appreciate the majority of the puzzles but some were very convoluted. There were some that had clues eventually like the dart board but even with that I found some to not work with the solutions. I think the overall design and premise are good and when the RNG isn't terrible it's a good game but it can really take the drive out when you are getting screwed over randomly. The fact is we have far too many soulslike and rougelike games on the market and not enough original creativity and I don't really think the rougelike element does any favors here.
