Blue Rose reviews

Blue Rose is a Visual Novel by White Cat. The Story is a Mix of Fantasy and Love Story, with the Fantasy part outweighing. The Plot has some nice Twists that you often don't see coming. In addition, the History from front to back is very well thought out and structured, could only go into a little more in the Depths in some Aspects. The 5 Mini-stories are already a nice Approach, of which it could have been a few more. I found the Characters very successful. On the one Hand, each character fulfils his Task, the Heroes make a predominantly symphatic impression, so that one feasts with them, especially with the Main Character, while the "evil" give a very unsympathetic Impression, at least on the First Look and without reading the mini stories. In Addition, everyone has his own Story, which, on the one hand, illuminates the respective Character better and, on the other hand, makes his Behaviour and Actions comprehensible. In the Game you have some Possibilities to influence the Course and especially the End. Decisions have to be made quite frequently, most of which can be chosen between 2 different (in rare Cases also 3) Options. Depending on what you have chosen, it then boils down to one of 10 different Endings, per Character with which you can end up in a Relationship a positive and a negative one. The Skip Function makes it easier to skip already known Passages of text, which is often needed, as a Character is a bit more difficult to get. Graphically, I find the Game mostly successful. The Characters are well drawn and have an individual Look (only Aran and Simon look quite similar in my Opinion). Even the Backgrounds are very successful only partly somewhat monotonous (especially those in The Mountains). But especially stand out those Pictures that stage important Scenes wonderfully. These are really well done as both Backgrounds and Characters have been drawn more detailed and cleaner in these Images. In Addition, I find it poitive that they can be found in a Gallery once they have been "unlocked" in the Game. Musically, there's nothing wrong with it, either. The Sounds underscore the respective Situations very impressively. In particular, the sadden/melancholy sections are outstanding in terms of sound. A Setting Of the Characters would still have been quite nice, but personally I can do without it at a UN. All in all, Blue Rose is, in my Opinion, a very successful UN that genre fans should definitely take a look at and even Achievement hunters could risk a Look, because the Successes at Blue Rose are not very difficult. The current Price of 20 Euros I find excessive, but once it is in a 50% Sale you can give the Game a chance.
