This is a visualization of Lindenmayer Systems or "L-Systems" which is an algorithmic system created by botanist Aristid Lindenmayer around 1968 while studying plant growth.  This visualization explores 6 of the L-System rulesets listed in "The Algorithmic Beauty of Plants" http://algorithmicbotany.org/papers/abop/abop.pdf. It's super interesting to me and I highly recommend you check it out!
