BRAKE RIDER

Made for Game Maker's Toolkit Jam 2018. Theme: GENRE, but you can't MECHANIC.

Drive to the finish line achieving the fastest time possible!

Sounds dull? How about not being able to accelerate?

Your vehicle starts at some fixed speed and you can only turn left/right and use your brakes... But beware, if you slow down, there's no way to speed up, it's one way road. Use your brakes cleverly to not crash into the walls and achieve the best time on the all 10 tracks.

CONTROLS

ON TRACK

• Left/Right Arrow OR 'A'/'D' - Turn Left/Right
• Down Arrow OR 'S' - Slow down
• Press R - To fast-restart
• Hold R - To restart with slower counter
• Escape - Go back to the track select
• Enter - Go to the next track
• Backspace - Go back to the previous track

IN HIGHSCORES MENU

• Press F12 - Take a screenshot (Windows version only, will be saved to AppData/Local/BrakeRider)

ANYWHERE

• Press F1 - Turn on/off sounds
