The Game is good. It is the fifth and so far final Installment in the adventure series, known in English As Broken Sword and in German Under Baphomet'S Curse. After the first classic Point & Click parts (Part 1 and Part 2) and variants with 3D worlds (Part 3 and Part 4), this Part is now again a classic P & C tuver with a 2.5D look. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1666645798 The Story is typical of the Series: The Robbery of a mysterious Painting turns into the Search for a powerful Artifact of the Gnostiker/Cathar, behind which not only the detective couple George Stobbart and Nicole Collard are here. The Events and the Characters are usually very pointed (oversubscribed), probably to appear funny and to let a cult Charm of the Series waft through. We come across an existentialist Waiter, a Killer Philosophizing about free Will, a Priest who is writing about the Birth of Evil, or a Commissioner who should be in School, and, of course, Goat Bucks. The Story is quite nice and entertaining, but it's also not really crisply exciting. People who didn't know Baphomet'S Curse yet are likely to become rarely new Fans here. One relies very much on the loyal Fan Base, who also contributed to The success through a successful Fundraising Campaign. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1666665731 The Dialogue Partners are very eloquently and not all (s) as interesting as the Waiter or the Killer, some things are only packed into eternally long Texts that you hardly have anything to say. There are also long Monologues about the Cathars, which (Reality check) partly describe fictitious Events. The special Relationship of George and Nico leaves me somewhat perplexed, also related to the entire Series. No Idea if this is a fixed Idea of Charles Cecil to create such a Kind of Harry and Sally. But that Nico can only play a minor Role here, George is only allowed to accompany or try to solve a Problem with her feminine-Franconian Charm, so that is a bit weak. The Gameplay is predominantly classic, with much to be solved by the correct Use of the Objects. While it was quite simple at first, it later became difficult, sometimes outlandish. They often really exaggerated it and I don't even mean the Goat puzzles that were OK. The Puzzles were very diverse, often even original, but sometimes I just didn't check it anymore. The Process was predominantly linear. Beautiful painted Backgrounds and very beautifully depicted Figures. When Animating, although already very good, it is noticeable that People usually only move (and then almost only arms) when they talk, which seems a bit strange in the Long run. Even in actually exciting Situations, most People just stand around or walk leisurely to their Destination. The Sound is good. Inconspicuous, good Music and Sound. The German Speakers are good and have a lot of work to do. It is negative that in Dialogue, second Time breaks often arise before the next Answer comes. Together with the somewhat long-winded Animations and the Myriad Of Dialogue options and extravagant Texts, this leads to a noticeable Long-distance in the Process. The Controls are great. I used the Mouse. The Gamepad, which is also supposedly supported, didn't work for me. There are some Achievements. For some, you probably have to make a bit of an effort (I didn't unlock them right Away). Pro & Contra: + Series-typical Adventure Story + Very Good Graphic + Very Good Grake o Much Wit, but Actually Too Rarely Uely o Many References to earlier Titles in the Series-Toothing Dialogues-Part trivial, partly outlandish Puzzles (solutions) Rating: 8/10 An almost classic Point & Click and a Tribute to yourself.
