Cashand Case é um jogo de mistério e investigação, no estilo visual novel, onde o jogador é um detetive contratado para investigar o assassinato de um chefe mafioso de uma rica família durante os anos 60.

O jogo se inicia com o protagonista sendo levando até o escritório do advogado da família, senhor Sheppard, e logo em seguida, à mansão da família Cashand, onde o assassinato aconteceu. No local, senhor Sheppard, apresenta o cenário, os personagens suspeitos do crime e algumas noções de gameplay ao jogador.

A ideia principal do jogo consiste em investigar a mansão e arredores, onde o jogador deve procurar pistas, resolver puzzles e conversar com suspeitos. A cada dia que passa, mais um assassinato pode acontecer e o número de pistas pode aumentar também.

Outra premissa do game é que os personagens suspeitos podem ser aleatórios. Ou seja, existem “roles” (papéis) predefinidos para localização e comportamento dos personagens. Em algum momento da gameplay, essas roles são sorteadas entre os suspeitos. Dessa forma, a cada vez que o game é jogado, os personagens inocentes podem mudar de papel.

Em alguns momentos do game, o jogador poderá fazer algumas escolhas, como escolher para qual lugar ele quer ir investigar ou escolher se quer conversar ou não com um personagem, por exemplo, que podem lhe conceder a rota "verdadeira".

Cashand Case is a mystery and investigative game, in the visual novel style, where the player is a detective hired to investigate the murder of a mobster head of a wealthy family during the 60s.

The game begins with the protagonist being taken to the family attorney's office, Mr Sheppard, and then to the Cashand family mansion, where the murder took place. On the spot, Mr. Sheppard, presents the scene, the characters suspected of the crime and some notions of gameplay to the player.

The main idea of the game is to investigate the mansion and surroundings, where the player must look for clues, solve puzzles and talk to suspects. With each passing day, another murder can happen and the number of leads may increase as well.

Another premise of the game is that the suspicious characters can be random. That is, there are predefined roles for the location and behavior of the characters. At some point in the gameplay, these roles are drawn among the suspects. That way, every time the game is played, innocent characters can change roles.

In some moments of the game, the player will be able to make some choices, such as choosing which place he wants to go to investigate or choosing whether he wants to talk to a character or not, for example, who can grant him the "real" route.
