About

Chip is an isometric puzzle game with robots, electricity and fancy dress! The player must help recharge Chip - a plucky little red robot - who has been imprisoned by the nefarious villain, Rust.

The player will interact with a wide variety of objects such as cannons, mirrors, and magnets in order to direct a blob of energy to Chip and save him from his grisly fate! Players must utilise their whimsical puzzle-solving prowess by tapping, moving, and rotating these objects to achieve victory.

Chip reviews and comments

nice, self-explanatory puzzle game for in between. Visually made quite nice in comic graphic. The aim is to shoot down a small energy ball from a cannon, only to later awaken a "sleeping" figure to life. This does not happen directly away. Instead, you have to deflect over rotating mirrors and move objects. Furthermore, you can visually change the cute designed playing figure with the money you have previously received by ending the level.

Chip is a simple and elegant puzzle game, with a nice design and a light atmosphere. In short, exactly what I expected by buying it. The problem is that the gameplay has a major flaw that will ruin the gaming experience. And this flaw is time. Explanation: to advance in the game, you must not only complete the levels but also collect enough bulbs to unlock the next part. At each level, you can get 3 bulbs. -1 by completing level-1 by completing the level with a specified number of moves (which is actually the minimum number of actions to complete the level), so you have to understand the logic of the level to optimize your actions. This point of the game is well done. -1 by completing the level in a timed time (usually between 5 and 10 seconds after your first action) and it is this part that I find atrocious. If I bought this game, it's good because I like the puzzle games: understand the parts of a level, infer what can be used to my advantage and find the solution. Now most people who play this kind of game usually like to take their time. The speed aspect of the game does not suit me and I think I'm not the only one to think it. Just like the rest of the game, the stopwatch is ruthless and requires total optimization, which it does not require reflection, but rather impressive reflexes, which stresses the player more than anything else. You have to go very quickly and a single click of the cross means to start over, on action sequences that quickly become long. The fact that the game includes a mechanics in complete disagreement with the tastes of the target audience is a huge clumsiness on the part of the developers, which would be honestly not serious if this constituted an additional mechanics that is not necessary to finish the game (for example, finishing in the allotted time would only give a bonus of coins to spend in cosmetic aspect). But right now, it's a major flaw that prevents me from progressing in the game even though I manage to finish the puzzle. A great death for a game that without it would have had all my compliments.
