City Builder Prototype
About
A city builder prototype lightly inspired by many games like CIV and Islanders and made in UE4. This project is planned to be a sort of rogue-lite city builder where you have a goal (currently to progress through a research tree and escape the planet) and you can every time you start over you keep the research progress you made and the aim is to build a city from scratch and escape in a single session.
As far as gameplay there's still a lot of balancing to be done with the distribution of resources, at the moment you gain resources much quicker than you need to and it makes the game very short.
The terrain is randomly generated because that seemed like the most practical method, it's a very simple system that uses the Instanced Static Mesh Component with a cube mesh input, I plan on making the terrain more organic in the future.
The art is all placeholder but my plan is a clean stylized look and the story is that you've crash landed on a random planet so the buildings will be made from ship pieces and things found in the environment.
