A City Sleeps
About
From Harmonix, the creators of Rock Band and Amplitude, comes a fresh new approach to the traditional shoot 'em up! All the action in A City Sleeps is driven by an entrancing experimental hip hop / electronic soundtrack, with no beatmatch required. The game's Idol System also introduces a tactical layer on top of proven shmup gameplay to accommodate a range of play styles.
A City Sleeps follows Poe, the youngest member of The Silk, an ancient clan of dream exorcists that can enter the minds of sleeping hosts to rid their dreams of demons. When the residents of SanLo fall into an endless slumber, only Poe can rescue them from a never-ending nightmare. Equipped with her legendary Koto-sword “Heartstrings”, and flanked by her stable of powerful ghost familiars, she must cleanse their dreams, and uncover the city’s dark secrets.
Driven by an unforgettable original soundtrack that builds through player actions and enemy engagement, A City Sleeps infuses classic twin-stick hardcore shoot ‘em up sensibilities with moment-to-moment tactical choices.A STYLISH, MUSIC-DRIVEN SHOOT ‘EM UP FROM HARMONIX
MUSIC / GAMEPLAY SYNCHRONY - Level design and song authoring is done in parallel, ensuring a hand crafted and utterly unique audio-experience. Music drives player projectiles, enemy spawning, movement, and bullet patterns.
THE “IDOL” SYSTEM – Get tactical! Use Poe’s ghost familiars to possess inanimate objects of the dream world; these “Idols” will assist you against an endless enemy horde. The soundtrack builds as you leverage a range of both offensive and defensive abilities including AOE damage bursts, and healing bullets. Experiment with different ghost combinations to compliment your own personal play style.
GIVE UP THE GHOST!! – Reverie, Lucid, Nightmare; multiple difficulties for all skill levels. Need backup? Buff Poe with equip-able relics and unlockable ghosts types for a tactical advantage, or take a stab at the re-mixed “Cursed” variants for an even greater challenge! Compete against friends and the world in the global leaderboads!

When Harmonix decides to make a shoot'em up, one could expect something from an original minimum but not. We spend his time browsing empty sets by pulling to the rhythm of the music. Beat hazard had unfortunately already done so and it was much more thrilling. I am very fond of games where music occupies a big place, but there it does not take.

What is going on?
Poe, a dream exorcist, is the youngest Member of The Silk/the Silk. With it, we are able to get into foreign Nightmares and purify them of Demons. She is Accompanied by Ghosts who reflect different Feelings and can benefit her in the Nightmare. The Shoot ' Em Up game is accompanied By Rhytmisch, [+] beautiful Art Style/Pop fans of E-music and fast Beats get a little at their Expense here and offer the original Implementation of a Shooter with Music [-]-gameplay offers due to the increased degree of difficulty But sometimes also Frustration, since you have to start everything from scratch again, if you lose Once you lose unfortunately not to be selected * My Conclusion: It has not become a Favorite Game, but at least worth a look. I have not seen the Idea at least anywhere else and therefore it was worth an Experience to acquire the Game. I particularly liked the inclusion of the Music and the very colorful pop art style of the Game, which is a little reminiscent of Marvel Comics.

This Game is certainly not the best bullet light, but it's reasonably Fun as long as the Game goes. Unfortunately, this doesn't have much to do with the restlich.usual Harmonix titles or the great Amplitude.
The Art-style and Music are okay but not world-shattering.
From the technical Side, the Frames fit, but there are no Options in the Game other than Audio, some Screen Resolutions are not supported and the Controls are not terrible, but could be better. It feels a bit slow for a bullet light, and the Control of the Ghosts is not precise, which takes forever until you put those in the Holes where you want them in.
In addition, the Game is short, there are 3 Levels that last about 10 Minutes each.
That's all, unless you want to play these 3 Levels at even higher Levels of Difficulty.
Difficulty is normal.
For the regular Price too unpolished And too short, for 2 Euros I would give with a Lot of goodwill a buy recommendation for Bullet Hell fans, but in The End You are much better advised with Nex Machina if you want a great bullet light with more Girth, better Control, better Music, where everything sits perfectly and is also much more demanding. Or if you want a great rhythm game the above amplitude. Is the best in the Genre in my Opinion.
In This respect, this Game is completely negligible.
Played: Ended all Levels, tested higher Difficulties; With Controller
