Commander: The Great War reviews

An essential Buying Argument for Commander: The Great War, if you can do anything at all with Lap strategy games, is its unused setting of the First World War. A rare Luck-like the 1914 Christmas Truce. As An Armrest General, it is our Task, round by round, to "make the Fronts clear," to organize And deploy units into combat, as well as to manage Production, Research and administration. Each Troop Association on the Hexfeldkarte Can move once per Turn and attack once. The Essence of the War Of Position in the West is skilfully taken into account by the Importance of The intervention; Breakthrough Attempts or further Operations are therefore always a Challenge. In the East, by its very nature, the "War of Attrition" rages, which, on a chronically overstretched front, presents Men and Material with harsh Tests. At The same Time, we are Wisely adding Infantry divisions and Artillery units, Armored Cars and battleships, aircraft and submarines to the production chain, exploring the latest Technologies of land, air and Sea Warfare and frightening in The Face of Pminent Frontline Collapses also did not return before the Development of Flamethrowers, Explosive Weapons and Poison gases. The strategic Sabre-rattling is garnished With Information texts about historical Events and Backgrounds. Of Course, the deficits of the Game should not remain unnamed. It is regrettable that we have very limited Influence on diplomatic Matters. In Fact, the Player always takes over all The nations of the Entente or the Central Powers themselves; A friendly AI is therefore not available. Moreover, I had hoped that the war-technology ventures, the experimental "Hit and Miss" of those Pioneering Years, would become more prominent. So I waited in vain for the German A7V tin boxes to get stuck in the Morass or for Russia to lead its legendary Tar combat car to the Battlefield. < 3 At the Beginning, one may be a bit overwhelmed by the numerous Functions and Possibilities. But Once you have dug into the System with the help of the (English) manual as well as some Tutorial Videos, Commander: The Great War develops an enormous Addictive factor that gives each Round of play an unimagined Arc Of tension. This should be highlighted, since the outdated Graphic is well designed to deter.

Surely one of the best strategy games on the App Store, unfortunately, the waiting time between each round is almost unbearable. I would have thought twice before I bought this one, exclusively due to the waiting time

I spent a lot of money on the Slitherine games. The games are around €20 and aren’t updated to IOS 11 or 12. The games won’t start anymore. I stop supporting Slitherine if they won’t support their own customers. Shame on you.

Totally unrealistic game. Not Historical in order of events and totally no realistic power ratios. Even in the simplest mode you are forced into the defense as Centralen. ' Man-worse-you-not ' for advanced..

The Game is really unfair. B.s.p, I carry out an Attack on a Position and each Time my Unit loses 70% Vitality and the opposing Unit only 3 or 0% that I find really unfair. The Game is not worth a Penny

This is so far the best strategic war Game I have played. Accessible, very extensive and sufficient draught. Looks very well cared for and before you get into it you'll be back for several hours. Money more than worth it. For the lover.

A deep, Premium wargame like I was hoping to see more on iOS. Commander is not too hard to get into, and hooked me for 7 hours straight the first time I got into it. Highly recommended for digital generals looking for a deep game and the opportunity to learn something on history.

I have played strategi game fore like 25 years now. And this game is sow bad. Intension is good but WW1 is all about artillery. In this game you can't use more then 1 one uno artillery a turn. If you do your out off ammo. And you can never win as central power. They sworm you in turn 8-10. My tips get another game.

I am a big Fan of Strategy Games (TBS/RBS e.g.: Battle of the Bulge, Drive on Moscow, Panzer Corps, Etc.) and this Game really excited me-or still excites me. There are an incredible number of Possibilities (strategic, tactical ...) to proceed. Even the one Can not undo a train seems annoying at first, but this eliminates the "Trial & Error Method." So I can highly recommend to anyone who is passionate about challenging strategy Games this Game (certainly).
