Core Meltdown Remake

Core Meltdown is a two-player game originally created by Expert Software in 1996 for Windows 95. 
It will test your ability of planning ahead.
The objective is to strategically place pieces on the grid to wipe to oppenent off the board.

This remake was created in four hours during the Berlin Mini Jam in January 2022.

Rules:
Players take turns in placing a piece either on an empty field or on an existing piece of your on color. Placing a piece on an existing piece will increase its size. When a piece grows too big (two in the corner, three on the egde, four everywhere else) it will explode and populate the fields around, grow them and take over any opponent pieces it reaches. If anotherpiece reaches its critical size in the process, a chain of explosions will start.
